@tardigrade81 we need you more than everShould not have lost, but did. They need to figure this out.
I say we all sign a petition and until they put me in. We boycott this damn sport@tardigrade81 we need you more than ever
So you're saying they should have never replaced a coach??Mclelland
Hitchcock
Tippett
Woodcroft
Knoblauch
Insert name of next false scapegoat to blame here
Tippett was such an awful hire. He was already on his way out of the league. Hey, just like the last three GMs we hired! So you're saying they should have never replaced a coach??
Ha noSo you're saying they should have never replaced a coach??
McLeod and Foegele are getting 3rd line minutes and linemates…like they would here. Holloway is getting top 6 time which…we are giving Podkolzin top 6 minutes….Let's be real here though, no way those guys get the same opportunities / minutes here. They'd be buried with the rest of the non-Country Club members.
What’s funny is if you look at the numbers our PK is actually doing very well, well the skaters are. Skinner is just shitting the bed.Oilers goalies are 88.5% and 88.6%... those are decent numbers in 1985 but now... not so much.
They are definitely part of the problem no matter how much people point out that the team can't score and can't PK and can't score on the PP either.
When everything is shit at the same time... you are going to likely have MANY problem players on the team and you can point the finger at basically everyone needing to be better.
So by this measure wouldn't that mean that Skinner was solely responsible for our amazing PK in the playoffs last year? Or are we not ready for that conversation?McLeod and Foegele are getting 3rd line minutes and linemates…like they would here. And Broberg would be playing in the top 4 on his off wing here too.
So what opportunities and minutes are they getting?

No? It would mean he played well enough that the great work by the skaters who limited chances a ton on the PK wasn’t wasted. So by this measure wouldn't that mean that Skinner was solely responsible for our amazing PK in the playoffs last year? Or are we not ready for that conversation?
Oh, I see. So he only gets the blame, none of the credit. I get it.No? It would mean he played well enough that the great work by the skaters who limited chances a ton on the PK wasn’t wasted.
Shades of signing Brandon ManningNo worries guys, management has brought in Attard to save the day. Hopefully he is med chicken fueled.
No? You said by my logic he would solely get the credit which isn’t true. He was part of the PK being great in the playoffs but does get sole credit cause the team was limiting quality chances to near zero. Which they seem to again be doing this year but Skinner isn’t making routine saves. There have been a couple bad plays by the skaters but nothing glaring like the failed saves. Now if the pl group was playing bad and wasn’t limiting quality chances like they are, then of course the blame would be far more shared.Oh, I see. So he only gets the blame, none of the credit. But everyone has regressed since last year, not just him. But he's the only one that's getting the blame. Where's the Brown/Janmark from the Cup Finals? Were Ceci/VD that great at PKing? No? The frustrating thing is that they aren't even playing poorly, I'd even say that they're playing pretty well at even strength but they've been so unclutch and that shooting percentage continues to be absurdly low.Should not have lost, but did. They need to figure this out.
Perhaps the reason their sh% is so low is because teams will happily let them take point shots all day long that have a zero percent chance of going in. There's no net front presence or going for rebounds. It's all fancy plays and passes that teams are wise to.The frustrating thing is that they aren't even playing poorly, I'd even say that they're playing pretty well at even strength but they've been so unclutch and that shooting percentage continues to be absurdly low.
I still maintain that there's no panic that should be had. This crazy low shooting percentage on a team with plenty of skill and poor PP and PK is bound to normalize. They'll go on a run at some point and likely soon. Long term though there will need to be an upgrade or two but this team is better than the record indicates IMO.
Yes the PK has regressed from the playoffs, that was an all time good PK.But everyone has regressed since last year, not just him. But he's the only one that's getting the blame. Where's the Brown/Janmark from the Cup Finals? Were Ceci/VD that great at PKing?
Honestly, he is one of the top reasons for our struggles...this team is built around him, if he is shit we will be around .500 at best.Something is just off with McDavid an it’s not the ankle, he has looked awful so far this year
