If you think it's easier to win the lotto than invest in something, then I am not sure what to tell you.
where to find a rich woman would be good!!!!!

Bitcoin it is..

wasn't there a huge uproar about private money (Crypto currency) a while back? Did they not cite a similar movement in the late 1800's that collapsed? ec 20070101 private money in our past present and future

what is mining, when it comes to bitcoin? Is it literally mining, as in digging the ground?

No, it's computers playing a silly game of solving cryptographic puzzles to determine which one has the privilege of getting some transaction(s) added to a decentralized ledger. The computer that solves the puzzle earns some bitcoin money as a reward. The puzzle-solving requires a lot of computer power, and so it is highly energy inefficient, to the point that bitcoin mining worldwide uses up as much energy as an entire country's energy needs (or more? too lazy to check now).

when we force nature
1730994156316.jpeg
1730994191266.jpeg

a new chrysanthemum on the left. Behind it and in the picture on the right, older plants saved over a 4 year period. The older plants, resort back to their more primitive self. Far less full. Far less perfect.

We are hitting everything in sight with chemicals. And then be around them, and then sending them back into nature for us to re-consume.

Collect tomato seeds and try and plant them, see what you get!!!

Dupont has become our sustainer. Then we wonder about health issues.

About 1000 such plants will be bought in River Side South. 1000 plastic pots will be thrown away, 1000 plants will be watered, will be trimmed, will have bits and pieces fly off and land anywhere and 1000 such plants will be in our land fill. To decompose, be sold as compost and run-off ends up in our water.

I saved the one on the left from a neighbor's compost bin. I will let it re-bloom for a good 5 years. Not as pretty, but not as harmful.

Read Stats Canada on Cancer by 2030 folks. It will scare you.

Heard something along the lines of that statistic too. Also a big reason why big CPU processing chip companies stock price is exploding (think Nvidia). They’re using the ultra fast processors to mine crypto.

Bitcoin mining is the mining of bitcoin using computer power to solve a complex algorithm that releases bitcoin till it hits it's maximum supply of 21 million. Bitcoin miners are also the backbone of the network. You need miners to process transactions; it's miners who process all transactions on the block chain, and they are rewarded the fees for processing them. The closer we get to the 21 millionth bitcoin, the more complex the mining algorithm becomes.

The recent run up has more to do with the surge in AI driven software ...all those models are based on training of very large data sets.

But yeah, crypto currency mining has also driven a lot of Nvidia's sales over the last 10 years or so.

More than half the mining is done with clean energy, and that is increasing. You shouldn't be blinded by fear

at about 3-4 Micorns of track width on a computer chip, you start becoming limited in how many electrons can travel on that line. And so friction becomes an issue. So, parallels processing is a must.

Thermal resistance is K*L/A. As 'A" becomes close to zero, Rthermal and Relectrical approach infinite. So, parallels processing is a must.

So you need multitracks and cooling.

No wonder the energy need.

Dr. Savas Chamberlain, Founder of Dalsa/IBM-Dalsa. U of Watreloo Prof. and pioneer in CCDs (main image capture devices today). I worked for him and was around his dozen or so grad students. f*** the things they did.

2-4 micron wide RGB filters to create colour...

Chainzie,

You have a few dozen computer geeks, sititng there writting code. Loading it onto super computers. Letting them run for days on end. All trying to maximize Game theory and Numbers theory.

And this is fueling a crypto currency craze that is sweeping the world!

Cannot we just go back to the Pablo Escobar model and proliferate cocaine and kill all that stood in his way? Way easier.. A few deranged, homicidal maniacs and some inbred farmers who can grow it. A few dozen chemists to process it and some biker gangs to distribute it.

f***, we keep trying to reinvent the wheel.
