Haha indeed. If Campbell can't string more then a few starts together then Freddie may well be our best hope in these playoffs, unless Dubas can swing a trade of course but that's easier said than done.

If Campbell seriously isn't starting tonight then the odds of him being the solution to our goalie woes drop down even further. We're not just in trouble next year, we're in trouble right now.
We have a good enough team where we can score 3-4 goals against weaker more offensively open teams. If hutch is decent for a few starts here and there till Andersen is back shouldn't be to bad. But Campbell needs to stop being babied and allowed to be the starter.

6/34 games is 3rd stringer quantity of starts. He should be getting 12-15 of the last 22 with rest going to andersen/hutch

Hutch confirmed now

I dont get what work load Campbell has? 6 out of 34 games is nothing. Why are we treating him like a young kid.

He is the easy start with Andersen out and even with him in he should be a quality tandem guy

This is an odd choice unless Campbell said he wasnt confident himself for this start

We will need a 1A/1B goalie next year who can give 40-50 games with other half going to campbell

It's very odd. And I can't think of any possible reason why Campbell wouldn't be confident. He gave up what, one questionable goal last game? Big deal, that happens all the time to the best of them. He does nothing but win so far so WTF?

Hutch played well the last time and other than that terrible start against Ottawa, hasn't looked terrible this year... Which is surprising given how bad he looked the past few years before then.

Just make the saves you need to make and maybe bail out the defense a couple of times. Let the guys in front of you do the rest.

I'm not too concerned about surviving the next few weeks or whatever. I'm wondering whether or not we'll have someone in net for the playoffs who we have at least some amount of confidence in.

If Andersen is our best hope, we have none to begin with. First round and out.

Not really sure why we're starting Hutchinson, or what "managing Campbell's workload" means when he's played so little. Is he injured? Because if not, he should be starting.

Just beat them. I don't care who's in net... sure in order I'd like Campbell at the moment, then Andy... but seems they're maybe both hurt with lingering injuries.

Otherwise I don't get why they would baby Campbell. If that's the case I think its a bad call.

Either way Hutch is in tonight and Leafs need to keep chances to a minimum with their big 2 out there.

If they can do that ... Hutch just needs to be solid. Nothing spectacular... just solid. Leafs can still get the W.

Our stars have to show up tonight too... all game.

Ah, that's BS. A healthy Andersen playing well almost got us past a powerhouse Boston team so he should be able to get us past a much lesser team without too much trouble. Whether or not he can get back to being healthy and playing well is another question, I hope he really is injured in which case there is hope that when recovers, he can help us out.

He is coming off of his second injury which has caused him to miss multiple weeks and getting the first starters workload of his NHL career... And we don't have Andersen available either. Back-to-back OT games as well, not that is results in a whole lot of extra playing.

The Leafs can also afford to be cautious with a guy we need to remain healthy. Other than his last game, Hutch has been fairly solid this year and the defense has played well for much of the season.

Looks like Keefe wants to be extra careful with Campbell which I get, but still rather Campbell start.

Healthy or not, I doubt his mental ability to get this team a win in a Game 7. He’s too leaky and prone to letting in back breakers. He’s had more than enough opportunities to get it done, being a big part of those losses. Time to give someone else a chance (unless it’s Hutchinson).

I just don’t understand what’s up with our goalies and their injuries. I get wanting to be safe with Campbell, especially with Andersen out, but if we’re being this safe with Campbell, why were we playing Andersen when he was injured?

Maybe but I wouldn't go so far as to state this as if it was a fact. The standings show us to be ahead of them but not by much, looks a lot like the two teams are roughly on the same tier.

Pts%: TOR #8 - EDM #13

GF/gm: TOR #5 - EDM #4
GA/gm: TOR #8 - EDM #18

SF/gm: TOR #8 - EDM #7
SA/gm: TOR #6 - EDM #21

Similar offensively, Toronto much better defensively.
