What's the consensus on Mikheyev? He's fast, and good defensively, but I wish he had some more awareness in the offensive zone. Dude will work hard to get the puck, only to do nothing with it.

Other than the odd dumb penalty, he isn’t really a liability out there.. Hyman was similar when he first came and now look at him. Hopefully Mikheyev can follow his “path” because he has all of the tools.

Would love to see Thornton fight kassian. Don’t think simmonds will unfortunately. He looks like he could have a lingering injury the way he’s playing
Lets see sire. It'll happen in the dirty third if not in the second. We will get it and ALL LOVE IT!!!! HARD!

I don't understand most of the reffing reactions.

We know that refs miss things -- sometimes accidentally, sometimes intentionally for game management, and occasionally I suspect, for bias. So clearly not all calls are going to be made. So why overreact?

If the state of refereeing in the NHL really bothers you, why not stop watching? Lots of other things in life you could do instead of watching hockey that upsets you.

I work with aquatic species and enjoy being in nature. Should I find something else to do since oil companies and similar industries have a huge negative impact on my enjoyment of the environment? Or should I stay inside because I dont enjoy getting eaten alive by mosquitos?

Just because something bugs you about something you love or the reffing can ruin a game, is absolutely no reason to stop watching hockey. Ridiculous response IMO.

We play down to our competition...watch them vs Edm or Winnipeg it’s a completely different level of intensity...even MTL...our kids are still learning they have to bring it every single night

They've been doing that almost all my life it seems. The season started looking different but then ...

That Boston’s a very experienced playoff team who knows how to flip the switch???

LOL.

Another season it was the other way around and they crushed us during the season. It's almost like you shouldn't read too much into one small sample of games.

Who's better than who gets settled in the playoffs, not 30 games into the regular season with teams separated by 3 points.

Anyhow, great first period, way to bounce back. We're the better team so far tonight, I think we can all agree on that. :)

Who’s doing graphics tonight some grade 11 girl on Tic Toc?

I'm not positive about this because I don't really pay attention to anything but the game itself but I think they have a bunch of kids involved at the arena tonight. They had some young un doing interviews before the game and I saw a kid at the organ as well, then they showed a couple dozen kids with those stupid cut outs that they have in the stands.

Ahhh okay! That’s cool then.

Then clearly the refereeing does not bother you enough to seriously effect your enjoyment of hockey which is the impression I get from the ridiculous reactions on here. If you still enjoy hockey despite the reffing then keep watching.

Matthews/Marner is the most deadly combo in leaf history.
Next for me was sundin/mogilny and gilmour/andreychuk.

It's the lack consistency and also the blatantness of the game management calls that they make. You see them let go of an obvious trip on Drai and then they'll probably call a weak hooking penalty later tonight; especially if the infracting team is leading. It's frustrating to watch because it just ruins the integrity of the game and as well just screws over your team.

Do you happen to work with a flopping aquatic McDavid species ?

Yes, it's the annual Next Generation game. They've been doing the past 3 or 4 years. In previous seasons, they've usually been afternoon games.
