Post-Game Talk: Oilers get ducked:

Woof terrible, but honestly the Oilers should probably wait them out, save assets and maybe things will improve, right? Is that how it goes, save the picks and maybe the goalies will just get better on their own.

Yeah yeah useless stat they say but… McDavid now has the lowest minus in the League since February

Someone on here was saying it’s a conspiracy to suggest he’s injured, but is it though? He’s looked awful all year

Goalies are bad, and this group looks like they are quitting on another coach

Could be seeing a retool in the near future

Can we crowdfund enough money to buy out Dustin Schwartz's contract?

Also, management's personal hand puppets were trying to make Skinner with his .875 sound like the second coming of Roli...

Congrats, Stu, you played better than an AHL journeyman.

I don't want this getting lost in the shuffle of the GDT, so sharing this in here (I didn't post it originally):

The score, frankly, flattered them. They look completely checked out, with no discernible reason or explanation why, and have looked that way for almost a month. WTF is wrong in that room, I've no idea. Deficient EVERYWHERE on the ice.. in net, with the coverage, in puck battles, puck management and decision making, in their preparation to play, in their work rate and effort... There is no way this team doesn't bow out in the first, if they even make it in at this point. Completely shambolic state of affairs -- this is after they managed to make it to first place, FFS.

took my son to the game tonight, and that was the worst performance I've seen them play live in the McDavid-era so thanks a lot and f*** you Oilers organization

-they started good in the first 10 minutes...then a rancid giveaway by Drai and it started going downhill, he was awful tonight perhaps his worst of the season
-that 2-1 goal was so bad Skinner that is laughing at Pickard
-poor defensive game AGAIN...they gave up a breakaway in the first 5 minutes, they haven't learned a goddamn lick

-something is off about this team....this line-up screams "6-game exit in the playoffs to the Kings" this year...old, slow, no emotion, cant score and get a save....maybe they're exhausted from the long season last year?

I should take another month off.

Thing is I watch teh games anyway so not saving from that pain.

This roster is so flawed, peaked early, now bone tired lineup going down the stretch. Slow and old team getting worse.

Tonight we saw youth and speed just undress us. Not like the Oilers could even do much about it. GEtting beat to pucks all night and getting outskated all night.

Connor Brown symbolic of how much this team sucks and how slow it is. Thought he was supposed to be getting healthy at some point. Lately this is looking like last season Connor Brown. Actually all of 2025 he's been more than awful.

The EV score tonight 6-0, at home. Oilers got their doors blown off.

I'm not saying the goalies played well by any means but these are incredibly misleading as the Oilers fired muffin after muffin into the goalie's crest. The way they played defensively in the first was atrocious. All the Ducks had to do from there was coast.

I’m as angry as I’ve been at this organization in a while. A quick glance at the analytics from last playoffs showed that Janmark, Henrique and Brown were demolished in shots and chances last playoffs, but were only saved by an unsustainable shooting percentage. The team decided to get rid of all its young guys, depth and hitch its wagon to those aging, bad players. I’ve never seen an organization in pro sports ditch their up and coming 23-26 year old players to sign 30+ journeymen who came from bad teams.

This organization was wandering in the desert until it got gifted Mcdavid and Draisaitl, two of the best in the league. They spent the first part of their careers messing around with Chia gutting their ELC and post ELC years. Finally, in their late 20s the team around them slowly came together, only to be gutted by an organization that AGAIN got fooled by small sample percentages- like they did with trading Eberle, trading Strome for Spooner, signing Nurse to 9.25, signing Kassian and bridging Nurse, etc etc. Not to mention that we haven’t had a legit starter since what, 2017? For one year?

We have no prospects or young guys coming up. I don’t care about how you feel about McLeod and Foegele, they’re miles better than our current bottom 6- not to mention Holloway and Broberg. Summer of JJ will go down in infamy, and if this organization loses 97, they deserve every bit of it.

I read a Lowetide article where he said our goalies have a 0.923 sv % when McDavid is OFF the ice at 5 on 5 lol and 0.872 when he's on the ice. Just a crazy stat

There are some peculiar items in this group of five-on-five stats.

Chief among them is this: Edmonton’s goalies are delivering a .872 save percentage with McDavid on the ice and a .923 when the captain is at rest. When Draisaitl is away from McDavid, his save percentage is .932 for this season.

That’s a massive gap. The Oilers are getting fed when McDavid is on the ice without Draisaitl. There’s no precedent for this, and the sample is large enough for us to question what’s going on.

inability to score 5 on 5 is not being helped by goaltending that can’t bail out mistakes and lets in 1 to 2 bad goals a game.

System has somewhat fallen apart which is concerning.
