Excellent game by the boys tonight but to me it felt like Game 7 of the Final last year.

When that weak one went in I just got the feeling that it was game over.

Anyway, playoff style match tonight and the guys played very well.
The goal reminded me of the winner in finals- absolutely had to be stopped, but he just can’t do it. Way too many times the 2nd best goalie on the night, and tonight was no exception. It absolutely kills us.

Kryptonite.

One team breakdown the difference in this game. Unfortunately that's a repeating theme and slim margin between these two team. This was a playoff game with intensity and clear a game and hated heartbreaker opponent the Oilers targeted to slay.

Too much perimeter. Over passing. And a soft, unnecessary turnover that led to the only goal. A repeating theme between these two.

Tight game like this I thought it was an opportunity for coaching staff to put a shooter J. Skinner with top line talent to give them a one-shot option. Didn't like moving off a hot Podkolzen when coach opted to run the stack in this tight checking game. Margin's thin against top competition. Unfortunately the Oil left its scoring in Denver

Idk why our media treats our players with such deference and respect.

If I was in there I’d ask

“You guys have now been shutout the same amount as last season and it’s only December. What’s the problem? Are you guys disinterested in playing? Is this unimportant to you? Do you have problems? Are you alcoholics?

In the real world people get fired when they don’t do their jobs, what makes you so special that this doesn’t apply?”
You’d no have access to the team if you asked that.

It’s sports for Christ sakes. It’s not hard hitting journalism, no one should expect anything that doesnt paint the team in the best light from the media, especially their own guys

Hill was giving up a ton of juicy rebounds. This team isn't structured to take advantage of that - especially with Hyman and Kane out of the lineup.

If they won that game i would say they are legit. This is a game that shows me who they are, still unable to get past the hump.

Maybe acquire some winners in the trade deadline and not these losers that want McDrai to lead them to a cup.

I would say there's no way Vegas could win a 7 games series against the Oilers playing that style, but . . .
With Hill they can.

Also if all 7 games have no penalties. Although, with the way the PP started the season I'm not so sure it's a strength anymore.

Yep let’s coddle the multimillionaires. God forbid someone asks a question that matters, they’d probably run to their safe space so they can cry about someone not fellating them 24/7.

Skinjob lets in a deflating goal and the opposing team traps to a win. More at 11

This board is so silly sometimes.--We have two of the best players in the world on our team. But no--let blame the goalie.

Just to remind you of $$$ cheques these chumps are cashing

McDavid 12.5mil
Leon 8.5
Nuge 5.125
Jess Skinner 3
Henrique 3
Nurse 9.25
Ekholm 6
Bouchard 3.9
Kulak 2.75

S Skinner 2.60

We pay our starting goalie what some pay they FRIGGEN Back

Oilers could not finish tonight and they did not utilize the middle of the ice. A top 4 defender who can make a great outlet pass, like Bouchard, would've been able to help a lot in that aspect and it could've helped a lot in creating rush chances.

The team could use a bit more speed as well. As a plus, I thought the Henrique line was good.

Hopefully Stecher is okay

Please. eventually the team is going to learn that this permieter bullshit isn't conducive to scoring.

I mean they've played Hill how many times since the 2023 playoffs now?

I think they've had 1 good game against him total, where Skinner collapsed in the 3rd period and let Vegas tie the game and we needed a shootout to win IIRC.

Every other game he's outplayed our goalie.

Are people really blaming the oilers for that game? They were all over it. If guys like Brown, Skinner, Nuge etc could finish anything we win this game going away. Sometimes it has be down the lineup getting the goal. McD and Drai were being double or triple teamed much of the night and thus just putting them together in third. Oilers dominated and Vegas played rope a dope all night. With Skinner spotting the winning goal on garbage. Hill had to make 20 tougher stops tonight.

Special pathetic honor to Eichel on the empty net falling asleep (he was all night) and getting stripped clean by McD. He deserved shame for that and Hill saved him.
