Also, Jesus, no wonder the two signed with the Blues.

That broberg offer was fair and around what hes worth

He is being paid for potential by the blues who can take that risk and type of deal where they overpay him by 3M in hopes he breaks out and is worth the deal, and if not he isnt a LT contract so can move on in 2 years

Based on Brobergs NHL career 1.1-1.5M on a 2 year deal is what he deserved

Congrats on the Blues for marginally improving your team but making every GM hate you

Can't imagine Armstrong gives a crap, he's retiring soon enough anyway, and that enmity generally doesn't follow the franchise; it sticks with the GM (at least, that's what happened with the Flyers and the Weber OS; we've made a bunch of trades with Nashville since then, but only after Homer left, IIRC.)

Matching broberg would just have them kick the problem down the road , maybe they are trying to be pro-active and save themselves the cap headache down the line
Sure, but usually teams right in the middle of their cup window will be willing to take cap risks. In the long run it'll probably work out better for Edmonton to not match.
