Jimmi McJenkins
Sometimes miracles
If it were to put it him with Leon and Connor to right the offensive ship, I would agree, but this is just picking up a vet to see if he can fit your team better than his former team.Desperation move

It's the "throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks" phase.Jeez we’re at the point now where we are claiming has beens off of waivers….fantastic!!
The damage is done.Jimmi, we have to stop agreeing.
It’s not good for my reputation.
??? Because, again, you can do both. You can both try this guy out to see if there's a fit and see if the kids can do something at the NHL level. Why give one of our prospects like Philp or Savoie a chance when we can just claim a guy who has washed out of 3 teams instead!?
This 1000%Well this atleast shows management has a pulse, now wake up and get us a f***ing goalie.
If it wasnt either or they wouldn’t have called up Brown to run 7D and 11F and then claimed another teams scrub before giving our prospects a shot.??? Because, again, you can do both. You can both try this guy out to see if there's a fit and see if the kids can do something at the NHL level.
It's not an either or situation.
You are right, but here's the thing, I'm shocked they even pick this player up. He clearly fits a role and had a reasonable cap hit, but until it was announced, there was no way of knowing if Stan was aware of it.If it wasnt either or they wouldn’t have called up Brown to run 7D and 11F and then claimed another teams scrub before giving our prospects a shot.

Baffling that they haven’t called up Philp
I'm an Oilers fan.You complain a lot.
It also shows management is aware things aren’t great. Right now it’s waivers but if they continue to shit the bed, their going to have to say bye to some friends.I like the move because it least puts the room on notice. Guys on waivers are as good as some of the efforts we have been getting.
The organization in the past has been too arrogant to use the waivers wire because they think our players are better than they are. Least its a step.
yep--this guy does not bring anything we do not already have
We don’t have enough functional speed. Someone who can skates fast but otherwise sucks doesn’t do anything for this team.90% of the board - We don't have enough speed! We lost Foegele, Holloway, etc. Need younger players!
Well ok, Kapanen is one of the fastest players in the league and is still in his 20s, lol.
I'm fine with Philp and Savoie coming up but I think it's better for their development that they get as close to a full AHL season under their belts and really get comfortable playing against pro players before being thrown out against the harshest comp. They should be up later in the year.

GEEZ... give us at least 3 minutes of collective delusional hope about this guy before that's shattered by his actual inevitable inferior play on the ice... along with scores of others that have come before him...Condors played this afternoon. None of Philp, Savoie or Rodrigue showed up.
Rodrigue played like crap. We need to replace him with someone with real potential.
As far as Kasperi he needs to rethink his game. Fourth line cycle puckgetter is what he is now not a top 6 scorer. Can he modify his game? Likely not as he is quite lazy at times--not the kind of tireless worker you need for the 4th line whose primary duty is wearing out the other teams top lines.
LOL...you never know maybe this waiver will be the wrench that hits him in the side of the head and makes him realize and he starts working with the coaches. He does have the base skills.GEEZ... give us at least 3 minutes of collective delusional hope about this guy before that's shattered by his actual inevitable inferior play on the ice... along with scores of others that have come before him...
