Will be overpayment for whoever gets this half playoff ghost

Bennett will try to elbow Skinner's head. He did it to Stolarz and Anderson, not sure about Vali of TML. But I'm sure the coaches will get the players ready for all of the Cats antics.
Yep, watching some clips against Carolina he did it to Anderson. Drove the net from the corner then just fell on him making sure to smack him in the head. It’s obvious what this clown does and if there is any whiff of it early on he needs to be tuned in. We have to match them physically all over the ice. Most of their supposed tough players are smaller guys. I’d love to see Podz throw down with Bennett. I think it would be a big surprise to him after catching a few.

This is the Achilles heel for them that is a pretty big one and goes mostly unrecognized/not discussed.

If they don't win a vast majority of those races and puck battles low on their dumps, they don't really have a lot of other ways to generate offence or possession 5v5. If they start losing this battle (as they did decisively in Games 4-6 last year), they are forced to revert into a shell and try to win 2-1 like they did in Game 7. Is it possible to win this way? 100% it is, but its very, very difficult to do that over 7 games especially when we can burn you on the PP even if closed down 5v5.

When you look at last year's series, I feel like we lost all of the first 3 games for no reason other than we just weren't ready for the stage and basically had nails starting to go into the coffin before we figured it out. Once we actually settled ourselves down we won 3 games and they won 1. If we don't allow ourselves to fall into a hole again (and I would be stunned if we did), it is going to be very difficult for them to win 4 games.

Here are the results of games 1-3 last year

Result, Moneypuck deserve to win, Edmonton goal GSAx, Florida GSAx
0-3, 90% Edmonton, -0.52, 5.7 (holy shit! I never knew it was THAT high)
1-4, 70% Florida, -0.58, 0.39
3-4, 63% Edmonton, -1.25, 0.67

We weren't down 3-0 because we weren't ready, in fact we utterly dominated the first game of the series to a laughably bad degree. We were down 3-0 because we badly lost the goaltending battle in games 1 and 3. Edmonton was the better team in 2 out of the first 3 games, and in the first game was about as dominant as a team can be.

As an aside, I don't ever remember seeing a +5.7 on Moneypuck before for a single game by a goalie, that is beyond bonkers.

This. Bob was out of his mind good that game 1. It isn’t repeatable.

Robertson was one of like three Stars players who even showed up against Edmonton.

But I'm sure it's noise. Teams that just got eliminated are often rumored to be considering some crazy shit.

Call me crazy, but I don't think they're crazy for selecting him as a guy to move in a shakeup.

He's easily going to command $10M+ AAV on his next deal, and I just don't know if he's that guy. He produces nice numbers, but is incredibly streaky while doing it and sucks at skating. To me he's kind of this generations Corey Perry (minus intangibles) - elite hands, elite vision, elite touch, but his legs hold him back from another level. The exact second he slows down even a little more is when his game will go south fast.

He was out of his mind for the first 8 periods of that series. I remember standing in the beer line at the second intermission of Game 3 thinking I hadn't seen anything as dominant in net since Hasek. Then we got to him in the 3rd of that game and took off from there.

The Oilers always turn series when they have the goalie figured out, and often not until that point. Not just scoring either, how the entire team functions. Off the top of my head all of Quick, Silovs, Korpisalo, Hill, Kuemper, Oettinger had success early in series the first time we played them, only for us to find it around Game 3 or 4 and then not look back. Then when we play them again it's no problem. The Hill one was especially devastating because pretty much the second we had Brossoit on the ropes Hill came in and there wasn't enough time to solve him in the series.

We got to Bobrovsky last year and I expect that we won't forget the formula, just like the others.

Yeah, but it's you, so you're reactively stating yourself as correct. It goes with your overall posting style.

I think you're just guessing because you can't do the opposite of this, it would be too on the nose.

Haha. Oh Jimmi.

Actually i do what I always do. I take in information, process it and apply logic.

It's why in the GDTs when everyone was noticing something was off w/ Connor the ppl actually guessing were the ones attributing it to ..."oh he must be hurt". You know, that defualt excuse that always gets slung around. All the while ignoring the odd play or burst he would make completely demolishing any hint of injury.
Did you see him the first game of 4N? Did he look hurt to you?

"Guessing" would be saying Kane might not be effective cuz he hasn't played in awhile.

"Knowing " and stating that he would be totally fine is the opposite.

So sure, I have no problems saying the opposite

Game 1, yes it was that bad. Frustrating loss as no one could score.
Game 2, that feels right. That's what led to McDavid's freak out in the room as they didn't generate much.
Game 3, while flow of play slightly favored Edmonton but some of that could have been score effect / series effect, but quick GAs in the 2nd sunk them and from there Edmonton had the better of the play.

I ordered the Weastern Conference Championship/2024 Stanley Cup flag from the NHL shop last year and it didn’t arrive until game 4. So being the smart guy that I am with my battered wife syndrome and what not I order the 2025 cup final flag and they are saying expected delivery is the 23rd of June. The god damn cup will have been handed out already!!! Stupid merchants at the NHL and bloody fanatics.

No one will agree with me but I think Blackwood choked that Game 7.
The tying goal went off a skate it's like blaming desmith for kanes goal. I'd say their d choked it away by letting him skate through both of them and wrap it around off one of their feet

Fun stat;

Since 1993, there have been 11 teams to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs on their way to making the Stanley Cup Final. Those 11 teams have a combined finals record of 1-10, with the 2000 Devils being the only team to win.

👀
Lol. But don't Maple Leaf fans always make it sound like they only lose because they always play cup favourites. Granted, the fact that 11 times their opponent made the finals (12 now) when they've only made the playoffs 20 times in that stretch might actually support their case.

I refuse to purchase any Conference Champions or Cup Finals apparel unless we actually win the Cup. Both items become almost instantly unwearable if we lose.

I was just listening to What Chaos and they mentioned this incident. So Tkachuk and Frederic have been friends since they were 5. Frederic was really pissed after Tkachuk tricked him into dropping the gloves, made comments like they’re not friends anymore.

I didn’t know they had drama like that. Could be interesting.

Tkachuk is such a sopping wet pu**y. f***ing disgusting player.
