I think having home ice is going to make a huge difference this year. We’ve lost one game at home these playoffs and it was when we scored an own goal with 0.4 seconds remaining.
Will be interesting to see if Skinner stays in the lineup after his goal tonight.

Really didn't think the team had it in them to get this far even as recently as a month ago.
Not sure if this is unpopular but assuming Brown is good to go for game 1 I think it should be Frederic who sits.

14 games ago I thought we were going out in the first round.
Saaaame, and even before this. Emotionally I was fully ready to accept that this wasnt Oilers year, basically every forward except for Draisaitl and maybe someone else had underperformed, Skinner looked like dogshit, Bouchard looked meh. But what has happened these past 6 or so weeks in the playoffs is an absolute transformation, this team was saving themselves for playoffs and they are ready.

Lost Hyman, but we have healthy Drai and Kane this year, and a complete D group while Knob struggled all last playoffs to deal with us having only 1 NHL quality RHD.
These guys play like they know they can, and we have a way better shot this year.

Florida got pushed to game 7 by the Leafs. The Leafs aren't close to the level of the Oilers.

This is a huge test. Hyman loss will really be felt in the middle of the series.
Florida is a great team, and greasy as f***. Can’t be afraid to get in to the gutter with them when necessary.

I think Frederic comes out... optics look horrible as we traded a 1st for a scratch but RV, Pods, Janmark, Kap, and now Skinner are all bringing more than him

I think the team is more prepared for this final. We have home ice. I just can’t see us being denied.
Florida has been on an amazing run. 3 finals in a row is crazy good. I don’t know how good of a run this year has been. I think they were impressive against TB. But they would of lost against Toronto if Toronto star players had any amount of spine. Carolina was a mental midget in the ECF once again.
I am worried about the Lundell-Marchand third line though. I don’t know if the Henrique line can keep them in check. But I think Florida is going to have problems with McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard and the rest of our depth/defense.
Hopefully Skinner can keep it going. We don’t seem to be able to get to Bob the same as most goalies.
I hope we can win both at home and put Florida in a hole to start.
