Offseason Trade Targets

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Part of it is that he does scouting, knows scouts, knows other people who scouts/scouted for other teams. It's a combo of talk in the community and knowing that certain teams are looking at or requesting scouting info on certain players.

For what it's worth, it's not the first time in the last year or so he's brought up Seider.

Yeah, so he hears talk, but how much do scouts really know what their GM is actually going to do? Can't see many GMs fully telling the scouts on their own teams what moves they are making.

Misa and 2oa is probably my opening ask for Ed. You'd have to go quite a bit north of that for mo.
True, I'm not really familiar enough with what they have to even guess what that would be. But yeah doubt that would be on the table, giving up Seider on our end and what it would cost on SJ's end. Edvinsson makes a lot more sense for both sides.

If we are trading Mo, Yzerman and all in the Wing house need to be cleared out and complete tear down. Have no desire to give Steve a 2nd shot over a full tear down and there is no other option if Seider is really on the move.
Yeah I'm with you, I've got no appetite to for going down to the studs.

Sigh, the press conference from Steve had me with some hope for this summer, cause he talked differently than past years, then Dylan asked out and I am super bummed about the team for next season and what direction we are going. Even if we get futures, they aren't close to being a difference maker.

If Nemec is a top 4 guy for a long time that is great value for Calgary. Of all the crazy trades today they didn't give up a ton. Those picks are likely mid 20's in the 1st round and if not they have protection.

You'll see those picks moving to New Jersey in a ~year.

For Quinn Hughes.

Think that Guerin plan is gonna fail at Minnesota, and the brothers will join.

It's just common sense. Two of them are already at same place, it's much harder for them to transfer in multiple trades, than at one.

Also this signal letting Nemec go, is a signal that the Devils "know" that "some defenceman" is gonna join them in the next calendar year.

And it's the worlds smallest surprise who is it gonna be.

Yeah the fact it's not their own picks makes all the difference. Solid upside move, even though I have zero faith in Calgary's rebuild.

C'mon now. Celebrini is hands down the best value in the NHL. He's worth way more than Seider just by himself.
The point is there's no trade that can realistically be made. Seider was top 5 in Norris voting and you can make a very good argument he was actually the best defenseman in the NHL this season. Entertaining a trade for him simply isn't done unless the overpay is so ridiculous that it almost immediately catapults this team into an extremely exciting direction where we have a superstar 1C to build around. That's literally the only trade that makes sense. And it will never happen, as it should.
