Byfield intrigues me and I’d jump on him if he was available but that trade package is a dud. Unfortunately kings pipeline is non existent and Larkin wouldn’t waive to go there anyways

Byfield, Clarke and their first could get the conversation started. Byfield plays C now and is only 23. I wanted him on draft night over Raymond. I'd add Faulk to get more seeing as how they will need a Right d man and we will be getting a younger upgrade. Kenny loves vet's.

If Pettersson is available and willing to come to us, in no way should his contract be of concern to us at this point. If VAN is honestly looking to move off from a 27yo Center who is somewhere between a 0.6ppg to 1.2ppg at his 11.5M/yr at a discounted price... we should be first in line. His contract in no way hurts us in any way, and he is capable of filling the 1C even at his absolute worst. At his best? He's a Top 5 Center.

He has regressed and drove two teammates out and a coach. Every time he’s been given an opportunity to prove he can take over a team he’s faltered. Too big a risk with that cap hit

I’m glad we took Raymond over byfield. I don’t know if Byfield every becomes a 70-90 pt forward

I think I’d personally like better a Desnoyers simachev peterka type trade if it were available. I’d chase Byfield when they get fed up of him and put him on the market and can be had lot cheaper than a Larkin trade chip

Ya l.a is at the bottom for me after the 3 teams Dylan requested. Green tree and that guys name I will not attempt to write does nothing for me 2 spots difference from 19 to 17 meh

Utah and San Jose just have better guys to offer . Ducks as well but if we’re throwing in cossa + with Utah we should be able to demand an extra premiere piece if they’re getting a #1 goaltending prospect . I think we have the potential to make a huge deal with Utah that would benefit us for many years to come

That is a pretty solid deal though, if it can actually be pulled off with Larkin waiving, Kings accepting/offering etc.

Essentially getting a young, signed 2nd line center with a guy like Noah Dobson plus a pick.

I don't know how Larkin feels about going to Utah, or whether Yzerman can convince their GM to part with one of these top tier kids. But I'd be thrilled with Detroit sending Larkin and more to the Mammoth for one of these two plus Simashaev. Short of a miracle for Misa or pulling Fantilli from Columbus, it's the best return they could ask for.

I'm definitely willing to take it that far. If I were making the trades, I'd see what I could get without dealing any of Mo, Raymond, Edvinsson, and Debrincat. Then work my way backwards through that list if I had to.

I think something around Ed for Misa should be intensely explored, as I think it makes tons of sense for both sides. If that’s something that we could pull off I think we should pull the trigger and look for an Ed replacement when trading Larkin.

If we aren’t considering something like that, we need to get a young center in the Larkin deal. Lots of interesting options out there. McTavish, Byfield, Lundell, Beniers, Des all are very interesting
