Nobody interested in Grabner. Isles have to eat some of that salary to make something happen.

Ok, oddball question. If we did eat some salary, would it come off the cap hit, the gross hit, or an even (3/5) spread of his remaining pay this year?

I assume it would be the actual salary (5 mil). No idea what that would mean for his cap hit.

I think Garth and Fletcher do another trade. Backstrom and Kuemper are both signed through '15/'16. I think with the Dubnyk signing we have an opportunity there.

If we do not sign our backup (Michal Neuvirth).

Not saying I want to. ;)

Goalies getting shuffled around all willy nilly....Talbot to the Oilers, Khudobin to the Ducks, Lack to the Canes, Raanta to the Rags, Niemi (well, his rights at least) to Dallas, on top of the Jones and Lehner moves yesterday.
I hope the isles can address their need this offseason. I'm hoping for Ramo to get signed here. Would be a good tandem with Halak

I thought they fixed this after Garth pulled the same trick with the Tim Thomas trade. Pronger is even worse because he's taken up a front office position and is going to be a HOFer in two days.

When Snow made the Thomas trade, they'd already added Lubo and his contract to the active roster. They were cap compliant.

Snow was making sure they'd be above the cap floor if he dumped salary later in the season.

This Pronger trade is a joke. As you point out, he now works in the front office and reportedly did not retire as a favor to the Flyers, who wanted him to stay on their
Long Term Injured Reserve.

Pronger/Grossman gives Philly over 8 mil in cap space, if I'm reading this right. Some of that will go to Del Zotto but I'm curious about what else is in their plans.

EDIT: forgot about Gagner, I think makes 3 mil.

Don't really know what to expect in free agency. I can't see us adding any significant forwards. Maybe snow gets a defender like Beachemin Martin Oduya or Jackman?

We definitely need a back up. Would love for Neuvy to come back.

If the Yotes need to get to the cap floor than why not just take Grabner? Pronger has been retired for years already lol

So then what excuse are you going to make for him completely mucking up the coaching situation?

I don't give him a pass in that situation. I think Cappy, although the team grew and succeeded should've been relieved of his duties.

I think Garth looks at it from the angle of the team did well this season and he was willing to give Cappy another go.

I think if Cappy mucks it up, he's out!

One of those first 3 or Sekera would be ideal. Getting a reliable vet to pair with Pulock should be priority. Hopefully Hickey starts as the 7.

Snowballs chance in hell we get Sekera. We can't afford him for the long term with us needing to resign all of our younger players to long term contracts.

I would salivate at a top 4 of Leddy, Boychuk, Hamonic and Sekera.

I'd happily take Beauchamin out of any mid 30 free agent D.

Islanders do not need to add to the D! Boy, Leddy, Ham, Dehaan, are our top 4 Strait is a 5-6 ...Mayfield should get his shot and Most likely resign Hickey......

Islanders Need Sharp! Plain and simple. Sharp rides shot gun on left side of JT......If Okposo is shopped Strome will slide into the top right.
