Honestly, I'm generally super anti-tank but I think the Jekell & Hyde routine they showed in this past half-season has made things very fuzzy. There is no right answer, we just have to see how the next however-many games plays out. It's a good thing, in a way... this is "in the mix". HuGo are in line with their own expectations at least. But yeah I would want to sell at the deadline, I don't think any of these UFAs are necessary and irreplaceable parts of the future winning team and whoever is called up or replaces the outgoing players will get a nice preview of NHL hockey (and the team gets to preview their NHL quality). Beck for instance, or Engstrom.I just want to be sellers at the deadline... after that let the chips fall where they may...
We are +9pts over bottom4. We have 48 and Buffalo has 39, both teams played 45 games. We are 19th in the league by pt% with 0.533. There are so many conference and division games coming up that it'll basically define for us the playoff and wildcard standings. Exciting times to be a Habs fan either way.Alright fellas, straight to the point. How many points out of a top 5 pick?

Can you say turn it on when you need to?I find the goal differential usually starts averaging out correlation with position over course of season.
Damn Bolts whats going on?

It's sort of a relief to see how close we still are to a top 5 pick.
that's quite a logjam
I completely disagree with you. I’m back on the tank for this season and then I’m done. This team I very close to becoming very good for a while. The latest good stretch was not luck, they outplayed and beat top tier teams but they’re not mature enough and deep enough to be consistent. That’s ok, but the signs we saw this year and this late in the season were never present in previous years. I’d be willing to bet a solid amount that we’re making the playoffs next year. It’s not a wasted season, it’s a solid stepping stone and normal progression of a team that’s been a legit bottom feeder for a while now.Surprised this thread is still up, so here is my opinion on the matter since there is no need to sugarcoat it anymore.
This Habs team just ain’t it. Five straight losses, a complete lack of consistency even when we were winning games a couple of weeks ago, and another season heading straight for the golf course. That’s four years in a row without playoffs, and at this point, it’s hard to see when that’s going to change. We have most of our core already playing with the team, I know Demidov is the savior but I just don’t trust he can come and cover all the holes of the ship by himself. Bedard couldn’t. Celibrini can’t. Is Demidov expected to have a bigger impact than them?
Sure, they have young talent, but development alone isn’t enough. The defense is a mess, the secondary offense disappears for long stretches. Injuries haven’t helped, but even at full strength, this team is nowhere near contending. We got opportunistic with the games we came back from a deficit, add to that the Laine+Carrier adrenaline. This was cool while it lasted.
And now, they are back in limbo—too bad to make a real push, but not bad enough to fully tank.
This is just a wasted season. Enjoy your 11th pick.
Fully agree. I was just shit posting.I completely disagree with you. I’m back on the tank for this season and then I’m done. This team I very close to becoming very good for a while.
