Belichick would have traded Brady in a heartbeat just to get rid of his trainer.

Complicating matters is the trainer pays rent to Kraft at Patriots Place.

I think a lot of this is overblown from the media. The pats will win the afc easily this year. Nobody is in their way. I do agree with Ty Anderson that winning just isn't enough anymore for many

People being outraged by Mazz' misogyny have every right to be. It was pathetic. But where I draw the line is calling for someone to be fired or suspended over it. The guy said something stupid. Like literally everyone else in the world has done multiple times in their lives. The only difference is that his medium allows more people to hear it than most of us. Despite saying something that dumb, he still deserves to have a job and provide for his family. Since when do we need to call for people we don't agree with to be fired? Instead of that, I'd suggest the offended folks not tune in to make their voices heard. If the ratings drop, maybe things will change. That's at least more productive than being part of the problem.

In terms of Mazz though, he's really not good. He clearly dislikes the audience, the teams, and the people in this area in general. The contempt with which he speaks about all of the above makes me ignore his views most of the time.

I despise Tony Mazz with every fiber of my being, but nobody deserves to be suspended or fired for what he said. In fact, IMO, there are few things that anyone could SAY, that rise to the level of firing. Suspensions are occasionally appropriate but very occasionally.

If someone says things that offend you....just don't listen. Why would anyone care what someone they don't like or respect says?

I have no use for Felger or Mazz, so I don't listen...but I'm certainly not going to call for their suspension because they said something "mean".

Parcells turned Terry Glenn’s career around using similar rhetoric. I honestly don’t see the issue. These are football players after all.

Seems everyone wants to be judge and jury with the free market when the free market can take care of itself. Radio host continues to say stuff people don't like, people tune out, ratings drop, radio host gone.

you sacrifice 2 years to get 10 more instead.

I think Jesse hit on something that's never taken into consideration by fans when making projections like you did above. Durability absolutely comes into play. Jimmy G played 2 games for the Pats and got hurt. An injury that Brady actually played through multiple times in his career. At the time, they were stunned he wasn't able to go in the fourth game, which is why they started a guy with a thumb injury that needed surgery in Brissett. So on a generic level you can say trade 2 years of Brady for 10 years of Jimmy G, but in reality we don't know whether he's durable to play 10 years in this league. He's never even made it through a full season, in fact. So it's hard to trade 2 years from a guy that's ostensibly the greatest QB to ever play for an absolute unknown. But we as fans never consider the negative. Just the positive. Every promising rookie is going to be a star. Every young guy only gets better and never regresses, etc...

I think that trainer is at the root of this whole Belichik/Brady/Kraft bullspit. I haven't been following this too closely but that's what it looks like to me. It also looks to me like Kraft knifed his coach in the back by letting the guy stay. Why Belichik didn't tell Kraft to GFH and resign right then & there is something I don't understand. It's not like he'd be unemployed for long.

Or through observation while on WEEI, they learned what not to do to make a show entertaining...

I am trying to figure out how you can connect these two thoughts.

Gonna ask you again: when would you have moved Brady: before last season, during the season, or before this season?
The answer is, they couldn't have done any of those, and people that believe they could are lying to themselves.

What happens if they kept JimmyG, had to either franchise him, or convince him to see with the intention of dealing Brady (why would Jimmy do that? Why would Don Yee do that?), then failed to find anyone to take him they could cut Brady, the dead cap would've been detrimental.

Not to mention, what team is taking Brady at 40 years old when hes spent his entire career in the same offensive system? What team is on the cusp but needs a QB? That has Jets Brett Farve written all over it.

I get it sucks, because Bill had it perfectly laid out. Brady just played better than anyone ever expected him to this late in his career, and there was no other way around it.

I don't care if Brady is 41 Jay Cutler is 35 and looks 10 years older than Brady on the field. It's all about conditioning. Anybody talking about Brees being old? Nope. In all forms of life if you take care of yourself you won't age as fast as others.

Question:

Do any of you actually listen to a specific sports radio talk show because of the host?

Me, I listen because of the subject matter, and despite who the host(s) may be.

I have turned a show off because of the host, and there are some that I just can't stand, but I'm just curious as to whether people actually listen to a particular show because they like the host that much.

i did with Dale and Holley. They were a great combo of opposing personalities and had chemistry from working together for 5-10 years daily.

Yes. I listen to TSH in the afternoon because I like Felger. His contrarian act that people still fall for is hilarious to me. I don't get why they haven't caught onto his routine, but it's mesmerizing hearing caller after call take the bait.

I liked the "A Team",talk about opposing personalities. Eddie was infuriating but also funny as hell. I turned off D&C after many years because of one person-Minihane-haven't listened in about 3 years after never missing it.
