Adam Jones is melting down about Price staying in Boston.

Can 98.5 opt out of Jones?
hasn't Jones gotten better ratings than some regular season Redsox games. Beasley might have to make some changes to 98.5 eventually because i doubt they want to pay Entercom/CBS money for CBS sports radio Filler when the affiliation expires

No idea about ratings as I try to avoid him like the plague.

I made the mistake of turning on the radio when I was changing after the parade and editing photos and caugh his 40 minute diatribe on Price.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the overnights. When does the affiliation expire?

? maybe people familiar with sports radio like Fenway would know how long 98.5 can keep CBS sports radio since its basically a entercom property now CBS Sports Radio. maybe Fox/I Heart would want a Boston affiliate since they are selling wkox

The worst thing about the Price-bashing is the obvious self-centeredness of it. Some sports pundits (especially the ones who delusionally think they have a deep bond --mostly of negativity -- with the fans) are enraged that he doesn't treat them like gods. Meanwhile, the vast majority of fans and, from all reports, all of his teammates think he's great. Plus, he had a major role in winning the World Series. He has proven himself to be a class act after some big missteps with the media last year. So good for him, as Cassidy would say.

Revisionist history.

Before his outstanding performance in the World Series all the critique of him was based on fact.

I Heart is in BK protection based in San Antonio, Fox already has some control in New England solely on Fox Sports Radio

He took what Felger did and somehow made it worse. I really would love for him to get canned. He is as miserable as they get.

People hate Felger, but what he does is incredible. He literally lets you know he's going to do a schtick to incite and annoy you, and people still fall for it. It's mesmerizing. Jones though, he sucks. He's just a wet blanket and clearly dislikes everything about the teams he's forced to cover.

I don’t call that brilliant I call it lazy and stupid listeners who fall for it.

But, to each their own.

I listened to Adam Jones once and it was the most fake, forced shtick I ever heard.

Me too. D.A. was great.

Back when I was working later I listened to him on my way home (I believe he came on at 6 back then?) and you guys are right, he was very good and fun to listen to. I thought he was creative, kept the content fresh and didn't seem to have the usual sports radio host attitude and agenda

Oddly enough.. Felger is the only guy I like on the hub these days.

I can't stand the morning show. Beetle might be okay, but I can't stand Zo. Mazz is a f***ing puppet. the fact that Murray wears sunglasses makes me hate him.

and then there's Jones. AWFUL

If Minehane goes to Barstool what is his ‘bread & butter’?

WEEI provided his foils we all know and the hosts and teams were characters or props

I national show doesn’t care about Gary Tanguay, Trenni, Mutt, and management.

Those folks certainly won’t be part of his schtick

I’m not sure it plays out

He's had his share of battles with some national guys too. Olbermann for instance. The guys from The Indy Starr.

I doubt he'll find some big fish to go after if he ends up there.

I still don't think that this ends well for him, on a personal level.

His act becomes national sports media suck and are not cool, unlike Barstool...
