QFT. Hell yesterday I drove over to IKEA just to stuff my face.. had to hop over a few turnstiles to get back out without walking through the whole store though
 
I will make a bold prediction right here and now: Canada will take a few Golds. We will be screwed out of one of them by the IOC.

Prediction number 2: A committee will be appointed to look into corruption from top to bottom in the IOC. They will find nothing, then collect their bribe money

The whole thing sickens me to no end. It's about global politics, pettiness and of course Russian Security. All show no go. I hate it

2/4 since NHL was allowed to participate. I think that's more relevant than ice size, which we've already concluded makes absolutely no sense in terms of a disadvantage to Canada.
 
I think Canada will romp. End of story. The Gold Medal Game will be against the Swedes. It will be close, but Canada has the depth to win. I think Price is the real thing.

Russia has no defense. Sweden will play the US in the semis, so one of them will fall. The US defense is so-so and they don't have much up the middle.
 
If you were a conspiracy theorist, (which I am not) Canada-Russia final with the Russians winning on home ice to avenge 1972.

This thread is so you can say "I told you so" when it's all said in done. ;)

My homer prediction:

Gold - USA :banana:
Silver - Canada
Bronze - Sweden (over Russia)

My prediction if I was betting $1,000,000:

Gold - Canada
Silver - USA
Bronze - Sweden (over Russia)

The big stories here are Canada repeating, against the USA again nonetheless, and Russia paying the price for letting its ego get in the way with roster selection by selecting too many KHL players. I'm not saying I think Canada will steam roll their way to gold, just saying they're most likely to take it all. With that said (I'm biased but whatever) I really do believe the USA is a legitimate contender and has a strong shot at gold.

Now your predictions please?

I think based on seeding and no upsets, the only place Canada and US can meet is in the semifinal.

So there is no way for Canada to win gold and US to win silver or vice versa.
 
Gold - Russia
Silver - Canada
Bronze - Sweden
Pewter/4th - Switzerland


However what I am rooting for is the USA defeating Canada in the gold medal game, and Russia tanking the bronze game bringing shame to the host nation.

Yes.

Scenarios:
- Sweden/Russia gets 1 seed out of group play, Canada gets 2, Russia/Sweden 3, USA 4
- Canada gets 1 seed out of group play, USA gets 2/3, Sweden gets 2/3, Russia 4
- USA gets 1 seed out of group play, Canada 2/3, Sweden 2/3, Russia 4

All could result in USA-Canada gold medal game.
