I honestly think this is going to be a Canada vs USA final once again which will completely disprove the thought that the big ice surface means anything (Even though Canada vs USA happened in Salt Lake already on Big Ice).
Team Canada - I think this is honestly the best Team Canada we've ever put together at an Olympics. They have far more offensive firepower then anyone else in the tournament, and easily the best Defence as well. People are quick to point to their Goaltending being the weakness. Luongo has won a Gold Medal AND been to game 7 of the Finals, which no other goaltender in the tournament can boast to doing. Carey Price has the highest save % (.925) and Highest number of Shutouts (4) of any goalie in the tournament going to the Olympics except for Tuukka Rask who is at .926% and 5 shutouts. Both Luongo and Price are having great years statistically even though they both play on very poor teams.
Team USA - about as good as last tournament, however this time they will not surprise anyone. Last Tournament they were not thought to be strong enough to be a Gold Medal contender, they proved people wrong. Team USA will also have very strong goaltending once again with Miller and Quick in net.
Team Russia - still has a very poor defence. This will once again become their undoing. You could also argue that without players like Datsyuk playing at 100%, they're not as talented overall up front as last tournament. I suspect that the Russians will be very disappointed with their results and am suspecting they are a prime candidate for another team to upset them, knock them out, and stun their nation. I do believe there will be a positive to come out of this, if you can look at it that way, and Russia will likely take a serious look at their hockey program much like Canada did when we lost in 98 and again in 06. This could quickly push the nation to really emphasize on producing massive amounts of Talent like they once did.
Sweden - has unfortunately suffered losses to injury, but I think they'll still be strong enough to contend for a medal and likely playing in the Bronze medal game.
Finland - lacking in true offensive firepower, but they are always very competitive and have strong team play and goaltending. They could very easily upset a team.
Slovakia - will not be as competitive as they were in Vancouver, but they should still put up a good game. They've lost some star power from the last Olympics, but usually play a strong team game. Outside chance of playing for a Bronze.
Switzerland - The Swiss have steadily improved, but I don't think they'll be a serious threat to Medal here, but don't put it past them to upset a team along the way.
Czech republic - Once a very strong hockey nation, they have lost a lot of their high end talent, and of those that still remain, many are already over 40 (Jagr, Nedved).
Bronze Medal Game:
Sweden 3 Finland 1
