I wouldn’t sleep on Sandin.
He is outstanding with the puck.
If he has gotten stronger why wouldn’t he make the lineup?

He’s a legit candidate, for sure.

The good news is, bonafide NHL caliber defencemen will be on the taxi squad and in the AHL. With a compact schedule they’ll need and are in decent shape here.

Yeah noticed that too. It could be a way to get leaner and faster

Heavier isn't always better. Sometimes better cardio comes at the cost of a bit of weight but it pays off majorly.

Andersen had weight issues (fitness issues) in Anaheim - which he apparently trained and was able to improve. He definitely has not looked all that fit lately and is getting older.

Just my opinion, but I’d be surprised if Bogosian isn’t playing at the start. I expect Lethonen to be sitting out at first. I’m thinking Dermott, Bogosian and Lethonen to be alternating at times with each other.

Yea it generally happens during cold conditions.

That is really worrisome for Brazeau adding more weight. He's already slow enough, not sure if muscle weight would help, and if its not muscle weight, yesh.

Probably not bad considering he trained with McDavid and decided to shed a little weight to gain an extra step. A slightly more explosive Matthews can NOT be a bad thing I would think

Hollowell was drafted in the fourth round, and Duszak was a NCAA signing. I wouldn’t necessarily read into this as the Leafs not liking Rubins or Duszak. There were limited spots in camp and Hollowell is probably closer to NHL ready than the other two. (Rubins has a boatload of LHD ahead of him too) It’s an indication they like how Hollowell is developing, and he has developed well.

Dubas essentially says the team needs to take what they’ve learned from facing Boston and Tampa the last 3 years and go into the Canadian division and be that team themselves, because the other 6 teams are seeing this as a great opportunity to be competitive too
