I'll echo what has already been said, for our actual situation, and what we'll probably go through the next 3 seasons (rebuild), he's the perfect hire, he won't try to 'win at all costs', he'll just play the kids, teach them from his experience, and try to let them have fun.

Not saying he won't want to be competitive, and hopefully he'll learn from all of this and grow with the team.

Truly an inspired hire. Probably Hughes' best move in his short tenure.

Hiring of MSL was a breath of fresh air and a big effect on our current and future core players. That by itself is extremely valuable.

I will bet that there is 100% no way that there will be a THREE YEAR REBUILD. Absolutely not.

Bro....you know damn well @Adam Michaels is fully ready and geared up for HF even when toilet duty is the mission....Actually, I'm ready to bet he's on red alert and fully ready to tweet even when Miss Michaels needs servicing

As expected, I don't think there was ever more than a very slim chance that he wouldn't be back. Now let's hope they give him the tools and the help needed to be the best pro coach he can be.
Not giving him the tools is like a cow on her last day before she becomes beef on your table.

Or he could be competent unlike almost everyone in the Bergevin era.
I hope so. The management can change and improve, so are the fans.

Good term I'm not a fan of 5-6 year coaching deals cause most coaches shelf life is about 3-4 years unless they're something special like Cooper.

Great news. I want to see what he can do with a full year and his own plan implemented throughout.

A lot of others have mentioned it already but he doesn't seem like a guy with extremely short leashes for young guys, especially young guys that rely on talent and skill.

I’m curious how Anderson & Dvorak’s games evolve under MSL - I fully expect them to… unless they’re dealt.

Way to not recognize the validity of the criticism towards past management.
The criticism went beyong limits. For some here, it was fanatism. Hey, it's only hockey, or sport entertainment if you prefer.

When I mention toxic, it wasn't only toward past management but players too. That includes Price, Paccio, Subby, Weber, Drouin, Petry, Chiarot, Anderson, Danault, etc. Do you think exagerated criticism helps the team's ambiance in any way? Like in Toronto for example? The teams who wins Stanley Cups don't have that toxic culture, or not that much like here or Toronto.
