It does have a lot of negatives, but it has one useful positive in that it reserves cash for his next contract in the future. If we signed Doughty to a $5 million contract, we are only adding around $1.5M to the books because we already have near $3.5M already reserved for him.

Last year. Not good for him that's for sure. Burning that first year of his contract rather than returning him to junior has hurt him in that regard.

I don't think he matters. With Handzus and Poni being UFA at the end of the season that's 7 Million opening up. you could sign Richards and still sign the kids to a long-term contracts the year after when Penner and Smyth come off the listings. We have the room but the issue with Richards is that he's the only good UFA on the market. He's going to get some gigantic stupidly long contract from someone who's desperate. Leafs et al.

Here we go! Made the adjustments for next season and they are:

*Updated cap hits for 2011/12 season*
*Updated our dollar figures, payroll, and cap space*
*Updated draft picks noting selection positions this year, and also correcting next year's number of draft picks*

The only thing I am unsure about is Kozun, Nolan, Voynov, and Kolomatis' contract lengths. I subtracted a year for each, and will just wait until capgeek updates their site for next year to confirm.

Not that it's a big deal but wasn't Jordan Nolan listed as center last year on the narchs site? I remember thinking that I would like to have him as the future 4th line center for the kings. The narchs site has him as a RW and you have him as a LW. Like I said, it's not a big deal. It just happen to catch my eye.

Looks like you're right, the Kings website lists him as a center, so I changed it.

We lost our third in the Penner trade. It was a conditional pick in 2012 which was either our 2nd or our 3rd round selection and because got bounced in the first round, it became a 3rd.
