Official Jets Nickname thread

It's gotta be Hatrick. Sorry guys, no other choice.

Morrissey has to be MoJo because that's just the coolest nic evar4realz!!1!

Don't like Lurch because it seems kinda mean spirited instead of funny. Don't like names that caricature a person's appearance.

Love Byuck****. Thorburn immortalized that one.

4th line Jesus or the Rabbi are both epic.

The Condor is also fantastic.

Bryan Little - Biggie

Burmistrov - WTF - because that's what I yell at least once every time he is on the ice.

Nik Ehlers - Cinnamon Danish - cuz he play hockey "Soooooo Sweet"

Brandon Tanev - Pacino - Because he looked just like Tony Montana after that scrap with Gemel Smith night before last...... https://youtu.be/brPg1c3Qxzg

Marko Dano - Book 'em....... and if you put him on a line with Copp you could call it the "Five-O" line

Jacob Trouba - Trouble - "Here comes Trouble, wait don't run, this kinda Trouble is lots of fun!"

And last but not least, Patrik Laine. I am a Big Lebowski fan and when he had his long hair last year we started calling him Karl Hungus at my favourite sports bar and it stuck.

As the Dude said "How ya gonna keep em down on the farm after they seen Karl Hungus?"

Master Schef, dishing out tasty dishes to Electric Ehl and Hatrick Blimey (-he's good!).

Not a nickname but I got a kick out of a thread title, I believe on the Rangers board entitled "Big Trouba in Little Winnipeg"

Where does that one come from?

It just happened organically on the forum. In his first season, we were talking about how excited Schiefele always looked and someone called him Brighteyes.

I actually called him that at his golf tournament and he laughed... pretty sure he peruses this board.

Awww, I mean, you DO have to admit that the physical resemblance IS uncanny:

But seriously, it's more a "lovable king-sized lug" kinda thing. Gentle giant, ya know? IDK. I sure never mean anything but fun with it.

Patrik Laine new nickname 'TOP GUN'

According to whom I know associated with the Winnipeg Jets was at the Heritage Gala and most Winnipeg Jet players were in attendance past and present.

During the event they brought up the Jets brand and how excited many players were of seeing the vintage WHA/NHL Jets logo and they were talking about the whiteout, Danger Zone intro song, Jump, etc (Jets players thought it was great to hear the song again at Jets games. Few players even said every time they hear Jump the Winnipeg Jets come to mind)

So I believe it was Selanne during a video montage referred to his Bossy record goal post celebration move with a nickname coming from his days in Finland. I did not know this but he mentioned he has done that shooting gun in the past.

And when nicknames came up with Kurri/Selanne. Teemu Selanne said Patrik Laine should not be known as 'Finnish Flash' but in the theme of Jets nostalgia he should be called 'TOP GUN'

And current Jets players have apparently been picking up on it. So I would expect you to hear that as Patrik Laine's nickname and not Finnish Flash.
