After the article in the Globe and Mail searching for a nickname for Patrick Laine, I thought we should create a main thread for ongoing nicknames for the current Jets players. I will populate the list as the suggestions come in.. this is a democracy so most popular wins!

Ehlers = Dashing dane, probably best looking guy on the team + speed
Scheifele = Chef or Snipely, He's busy in the kitchen cooking up some points
Buff = Buff,
Myers = Octopus
Wheeler = Wheels
Lowry = Lousy
Armia = Army of one
MP = Frenchy


Laine has always reminded me more of a James Bond Villain then Bond. I mean put him in an 80's Mercedes 560 SEL with those sweet driving gloves he wore in that YouTube video of him driving that moped car.... seriously he looks and sounds like every 80''s movie bad guy a la, die hard, lethal weapon, beverly hills cop....
 
If Laine grows his mane like he did last season I'm thinking Rhaegar or some play thereon.

I was trying to push 'Scheif the Knife' but that hasn't captured the public imagination.


Electric Ehlers works for me though.

I'll get "Lurch" over as a nickname for Adam Lowry if it kills me.

As a big Rollerball fan, and with Tyler Myers being a gigantic sonofagun from Houston, I use "Moonpie" for the guy, but I understand "The Condor" stuck with him from Buffalo.

But one thing that's an iron lock? Chris Thorburn is "4th Line Jesus". There was even a poll and a very brief holy war against the "Christ Horburn" infidels to iron that out.

I believe "he who cannot be named" is playing for the moose.

One of our D (can't remember who) was named the Baker once as they were really good at turnovers.
