This is kind of random but I just thought of this... Remember how innocuous the Elliott-Anderson trade seemed at the time? Two teams trading above average backups that had reached their potential? Weird how well it's worked out, even if Elliott's not in Colorado anymore.

I'll be cheering for the Sharks out of the west, though I'll cheer for the Kings if they win, I just don't want to see either Chicago or Detroit in the finals. Don't really care about the east, but I guess I'd prefer the Rangers and Pens advance, just because I dislike them less than the Bruins and Sens.

I am officially in anti-Pittsburg mode. As long as they lose I don't care who wins, though it wouldn't bother me much if the Bruins lost too. Of course that just about guarantees a Pens-Bruins final in the East.

Out West I'll have to go with the Hawks over the Wings in a competitive series. No clue who to pick in the Cali series. I just watched Roenick and Milbury pick the Kings, so that seems a pretty good reason to go with the Sharks.

I'm predicting a big series from Matt Cooke. Seriously, if he plays hard without crossing lines and also scores like he can when he plays well he'll be hard to stop. Really feel like he could be Ottawa's Achilles Heel as it were.

Also I fully expect the Sharks to bounce back, if for no other reason than I feel they have one of the most underrated goalies in the league. If you can't tell, I'm very Pro Niemi. Not Antti Niemi at all.

Not sure if poor choice of words or best choice of words.

For me, the teams I would prefer to advance:

Penguins vs Senators

Bruins vs. Rangers - Can both teams come down with swine flu or something?

Blackhawks vs Red Wings

Kings vs Sharks

I have mine the same, but choosing Bruins just because I feel it will be cool to have the Iginla mess between Pittsburgh and Boston in full effect.

Shouldn't we be rooting for the Pens for that ever important conditional 6th round pick?
