Top 4 dman on sweetheart deal, and arguably NHL ready prospect to play in the top 9.

Have to call it a win, right?

A little surprised nobody used a 6th/7th to take a flyer on Forsberg in the hopes he will turn it around.

Rich Winter tells Andersen to refuse a contract from Carolina so he can be re-drafted and get a starting spot sooner. Now stuck in a logjam in Anaheim.

Rich Winter tells Hofmann to refuse a contract from Carolina so he can be re-drafted and... profit? Not drafted.

This guy...

Any non draftees we could score on FA deals?

Still think Yuen should be an option.

Many consider him one of the best shutdown D in the WHL, impressive as he is only 6'0, 205 lbs. He was +45 and +45 on a good Tri-City 2 and 3 seasons ago before struggling a bit last year as the team lost a lot of its talent, yet he still managed to play well.

He would be able to join Charlotte right away.

it would be nice if management had the same level of enthusiasm some of you fans have. it wouldn't be surprising to find out that some of you know more about some of those prospects than jr.

i think he's done and ready to roll with what's in place now. oh, there might be a couple of minor moves still to come but they're quite CONTENT imo. he said he was happy now, happy with the offense and with this incredible defensive pick up, the defense is all set too. mediocrity, good enough, whatever. when the injuries hit again and the lack of depth is exposed, history will repeat itself.

it would be nice if that proves to be wrong but i doubt it. hope guys like rask and murphy are ready to play well at the nhl level.

Posted in another thread but saw it mentioned here, Hoffman was UNABLE to be drafted due to Switzerland not signing the transfer agreement. Ace advice from his agent on that one. He remains Carolina property indefinitely.

I mean not only that, but he probably also cost himself a year of restricted status by not signing right away. That falls directly at the feet of getting poor advice. From my understanding (limited as it may be), this status as it currently exists makes him sort of like defected status under the CBA two rotations prior where his status is indefinite and he is only eligible to sign with Carolina or nowhere at all until some far away time in the future when he would gain unrestricted status.

His agent just cost him his signing bonus, delayed a year by inflation, and an extra year of restricted status once he does sign.

This was the same guy that came out recently and trashed Philly for the handling of his client (Bryzgalov), yeah?

Seems like he simply enjoys stirring the pot
