The fact of the matter is this ... there were opportunities to do a lot of things ... and we did nothing. It would be much more painful if it wasn't so predictable.

I'm totally fine with this pick. Monahan is good but this kid has more talent, we were never gonna take nichushkin. Too much of a stretch for jr. I'm glad he chose this kid. He will play for us, and play at least a solid if not eventually a starring role for us. Raises the skill level.

I'm glad we didn't trade down, never wanted to.

Lindholm was the highest scoring Draftee out of the SEL since the Sedins, so there is always that.

So he's committed to Sweeden next year. Holy crap. We are the only team that could manage a weak 3rd line center that can't play next year out of this draft field. If only Nash was as dumb we could have grabbed Jones.

They took a defensive center, in a DEEP draft. JR made a big deal out of taking an NHL ready player, and takes the ONLY guy so far that can't play in the NHL next year!

Wow, what a disappointment.

I don't like the pick overall. I wish we had tried to fit our needs, and he doesn't seem to be what we nee. I also don't like the fact that he's playing in Sweden next year before coming here.

Glad we didn't take Nichushkin. The kid has basically already said that he will bolt to the KHL when things don't go his way.

Where are people getting this 3rd line center ****?

He said Lindholm would find a role on the team, whether it's in the Top 6 or as a 3rd line center.

Which makes sense, since he can't very well take the center positions in the Top 6

What's wrong with taking the top guy available on our board?

Rutherford says he was offered good forwards for 5th, but couldn't get a deal sweet enough to give up the pick. Still want a top 4 D.

and he is physical. sedins are not. stop crying. with staals, skinner, ruutu, tlusty and lindholm you guys will have a fantastic top 6 in years.

I'm ok with this. We didn't take Nurse. We didn't trade for Myers. We didn't do anything that could completely blow up in our face.

But, for some reason, Lindholm is just a little less... something... than the other guys who were projected at our range. Maybe just a lack of exposure, but he seems like a less exciting pick.

Totalclown would find a way to criticize our pick even if we somehow selected MacKinnon

The team right before us got SETH JONES. We got a smallish Swedish center who is two years away from making the team. How can you guys not be disappointed? What will it take? Stunning that you still trust this group to do what's best for the Hurricanes.

Lindholm is not locked in at center. He could play wing.

I guess Nich was just too risky. can't say I disagree.
