Funny note, because my fiance is from Stutgard, i decided to make one of my fantasy teams all the Swiss, Germans and Austrians in the league.
So in our entry draft i have to draft all germans. Do we think Lewandowski and Handel are the only ones with genuine NHL upside?
Ahaha. Love this. I used to do crap like this on Football Manager... make a team with constricted nationality rules to make it more interesting. Had such a fun save where managed Partizan Belgrade with a rule that could only sign players of ex-Yugoslav nationality or descent.
I would say that in terms of those three nations for this draft:
Legit chance to be depth NHLers: Lewandowski, Handel
Have the talent but lot needs to go right: Willhoft
Longshots, but a small chance to be top 9/5 guys: Griva's, Elias Schneider, Fabio Kose
Longshots, if make it will be 4th liners/6-7: Timo Kose, Rio Kaiser, Maxim Schafer
Switzerland and Austria do have some prospects in this draft though, albeit quite a few are overagers:
Legit chance to be depth NHLers: Jamiro Reber, Elijah Neuenschwander, Ludvig Johnson
Have the talent but a lot needs to go right: Daniil Ustinkov, Matia Nico Birchler
Longshot, if things went perfectly a back-up goalie: Simon Wolf
Longshots, if make it will be 4th liners/6-7: Gus Van der Kaaij, Robin Antenen, Niklas Blessing, Kimo Gruber, Florian Schenk, Ian Scherzer, Phillip Sinn, Patrick Sollinger, Roman Kechter, Rayan Bettahar, Veit Oswald, Lenny Boos, Julius Sumpf, Edwin Tropmann, Noah Samanski
Now, basically outside the 11 guys in the first 2 categories everyone else are players in a real draft you would not spend more than a 7th round pick on! But they are the names I guess to look at.
Next year and 2027 will have some potential top talent coming though!
