Providence Bruins General Discussion thread ‘24-‘25 II

Yes, his battle factor was terrible. He wanted nothing to do with it. I want to like him and he has some skill, I just don’t think he has the compete level for the NHL or even the AHL.
Sounds like more of the same from this guy. He has some strong play down the stretch with the big club. Now he’s right back to his usual antics.

I’m with you as are many here im sure. We’ve all seen the skill and want him to pan out. I had really hoped he would ride his solid play with the big club right into these playoffs with the PBruins.

But yet again we’re left asking does HE want IT?

Is it fair to say that Lysell has regressed as a player since his debut season in Providence?

More of a roller coaster, with his best play coming down the stretch with the big club.

I don’t really buy the scratch as a punishment , the whole team looked meh in those games and it would make sense to let a young winger watch the game and take some notes over some of these vets that are just warriors for you and your season is on the brink.

If he looks disinterested and not driving plays with his feet and shiftiness in September I’d be concerned

I don’t buy that he’s look disinterested. I haven’t seen a single game of disinterest from him.

Does he play smart? Does he make high-percentage plays? Is he taking feedback from his coaches and instituting it into his decisions? All of these things I can see being issues.

But passive play? I don’t believe it.

Hard not to think that way. The numbers certainly reflect that opinion. Given how he looked at the NHL level, he should be one of the better players down there, if not the best. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't spectacular in his short NHL stint, but the skillset was an obvious level above the likes of Tufte, Brown, Lettieri etc. Would lead me to believe he simply doesn't get it. This should have been his year to dominate the AHL and get that extended NHL stay. Heck, a good playoff run and he'd probably be penciled into the top-9 next year.

Wouldn't shock me if he still has a career. Less likely it's here IMO. More likely it's something like Daniel Sprong. Someone of that ilk.

In the games I saw live he was either on or off but mostly on

Via the stream online for the checkers games he was floating a bit but most of the rest of the team wasn’t cutting it either, so I can’t honestly tell you why I think he was singled out
