Official 2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

Where they are right now, I really want them to select Frondell. At the same time, I fully expect them to do something stupid and I just have a gut feeling that the Flyers won't be picking here by the time the draft rolls around. I just feel like they're going to try to cheat things and use this pick to acquire a center. It just feels like something they'll do because you can bet that if Tortorella returns, he'll want to go out winning if next year is his final year. I'm just ridiculously nervous with this group.
The worst thing about their current positioning is that I start to dream about Hagen's slipping to them. Bad is them winning enough to get out of this position. Worse is him being there for the Flyers' pick and them not picking him.

If they do this, Briere better tank for the 2026 draft.

Trade Tippett and Foerseter away for some 2026 1st round picks (add in 2027 draft picks as necessary)

Fire Fonzie.

Trade Ersson and ride Fedotov and Kolosov the entire season.

This. And even better, to set themselves up to do it again in 2027 and have a shot at DuPont as well.
More misery in the short term, but WOW after that.

I feel like there is one really smart guy/girl on the staff, and he speaks up and says we should do this, or that, or draft this guy, and the alumni and other staff members bully him/her into submission, it would certainly be on brand for this franchise

I imagine they've come to torts to tell them about usage and situational hockey and torts puts them in a corner and him and the old boys club peg that person with tennis balls, and take turns laughing at them while telling them just be a f***ing flyer

never woulda go hired...

A late birthday so next year’s draft but what’s the deal with this kid? Out of nowhere a bit I guess he’s one of the best scoring defensemen in the OHL.

I’d be cool with Frondell,Desnoyers if we are picking 6 or higher. A bit lower McQueen does the trick.
If Briere is gonna trade picks for an nhl ready player it’s gonna be some of our 4 seconds and other 2 firsts

I’m going to choose to be optimistic about their chances of picking top 5.

4 of their last 12 games are against shit teams. Buffalo twice, Chicago and Nashville.

Islanders would typically be slotted in there, but they always give them fits. Otherwise, the rest are teams that are battling for better spots in the playoffs or for their playoff lives. And the Flyers are complete shit.

I’d say they only win max 3 or 4 of their last 12 games from here on, which gives them a great chance to end up pretty much where they are.

Desnoyers is 7th on my list. McQueen isn’t in my top 10

We can still manage to sit at 4th pre-lottery.

"But at least we aren't Buffalo!"

I would be thrilled with Hagens or Frondell and pleased (even though not a positional need) by Martone. That being said, I would have a deal in place with Buffalo to switch picks with the later of the Colorado or Edmonton 1sts if Buffalo had Martone ranked higher than either of the C's ... or (pipe dream) Konecny and one of the late 1sts (if necessary) for the Buffalo 1st.
