I love EP but do feel like there is an arms race to put out lists earlier and earlier... used to be they put it out in November. Which makes more sense.

Right now you have top prospects (including the likely #1) who have not played a game yet this season as leagues have not fully started... and very few have played more than 5-10 games anyway. And they will ofc have had their meetings and draft call about this like a week ago probably when even less games were played.

However, a LOT of the Euros are underperforming early.

Eklund, Limatov, Eriksen, Gastrin, Osmanis, Nilson, Pobezal, the HIFK boys are the only ones I have watched so far and have came away thinking they are clearly improved vs last year. Albeit super early.

Annnd does not help that Luleå U20 team are having a mini crisis when they have 2 of the best Swedish prospects for this draft on them.
The whole USNTDP team is underperforming early too. I have no idea who I should even have at 4th overall atm lol.

November is a still a SSS, especially given we're talking 17 and 18 year olds who in many cases are likely to make big jumps between October and April.

People just feel pressured to create content for the Internet.

The draft is in summer, so what's the rush to make any list until the spring?

Jenner is out for the season for CBJ.
Looking like a disaster of a season.
Oh yeah, Flyers have their 2nd rd pick, 33-35?

There are guys to watch in rd 1, 2025 draft. If we are 10-15, a guy to watch is Cole Reschny, from Macklin,SK, C/W, 5-9,161.i like Desnoyer as well. We have draft capital, and now is the time to package and move up. I would just keep 1 of our seconds, probably the Columbus 1 and steal a guy that should have been a first rounder.

I checked on the dub home page and Reschny is5-10,187, high hockey iq, stocky and an ell of a playmaker., good skater and gritty. If he gets stronger, he would be a small power forward. I’m 5-10, 187 on a light day, 195 on a heavy day . I move a 30 lb kettle bell, like some people move pencils.

Things to think about when evaluating players for the Flyers.

Their philosophy seems to prefer full sized two way centers because of their defensive scheme where the center plays a big role, and are more comfortable with undersized offense first wings.

They're also trying to increase team speed, so that might be a tiebreaker.
But they also put a lot of emphasis on IQ.

Given McDonald, Bonk, Gill, Sotheran in the pipeline, I think they'd have no qualms about drafting an undersized but fast puck moving LHD. Not sold Drysdale is that guy.

Briere was a 5'9 forward, who excelled in an era where clutching and grabbing and dirty hits were the norm, so I don't think he has an innate preference for big players. Though he probably likes smaller players with "grit."
