San Jose I think is the clear front runner for first overall at this point… I expect the Flyers to fall somewhere in the 5-7 range again, but I don’t know if I can say with full confidence that there is another team worse than the Flyers. A lot will likely depend on how well Couturier looks in his return to the lineup.

I could see that, but at the same time I’m not convinced the Flyers are definitively better than any of these teams besides the Sharks. A good amount of these teams got better, even if just by a smidge.

i guess thats my if Hart is playing, now if he gets traded then all bets are off

That’s just being a realist… This team never bottoms out. Committed to mediocrity and the dreaded sweet spot of not making the playoffs but also not drafting high enough to get an elite level prospect in the draft. They just lucked into one hell of a gift this time around. That very likely won’t happen again.

One of TK or Laughton absolutely should have been traded by now… So not sure how much faith I have in them to sell off more significant pieces before next years draft. If not, then this isn’t anywhere close to the rebuild Danny has been talking about.

They don’t know what tanking is or isn’t. They just think saying it sounds tough and dignified. You can say it’s public bluff and bluster, but so far, their actions back up they don’t actually want to bottom out from a roster standpoint. It’s a 3 year retool.

Ivan Demidov looks like something special from the 8 minutes of highlight videos I’ve seen.

And for that, he is my #1 must draft for this draft currently ( I have yet to see any other player actually play).

Celebrini for sure. Can be an elite centre.

Gauthier-Celebrini-Michkov would make a pretty good top line

Really impressed with Sam Dickinson. Absolutely beast in D-zone. If he can improve his offensive abilities, he’s top-10 without doubts, probably should be in top-5 conversation.
Teammates with Oliver Bonk. Does they play together in the same pairing?

Makes the Bonk pick hurt a little bit more looking at the D available in this draft, looking to be loaded with them in first 15 picks or so. Really hoping those Panthers injuries linger into next season and they struggle.

100% agreed. Bonk is a safe pick, probably top-4 shutdown potential. Nice to have but nothing to wow about. Pretty sure if he were a LDH we probably pick someone else.

Gabe Perreault was the guy we should have taken. Another wizard on the ice, doin' crazy things with the puck. I know we are heavy on RW's but you can never have too much skill and talent.

This upcoming years draft should be all about defencemen.

If we pick outside the top5 and don't get one of Levshunov or Mews the world shall burn.

Michkov... just a cut above.

Demidov is good but he has never quite as good as Michkov at any age or level.

At Demidov's age Michkov was putting up 0.38 P/GP in the KHL and 1.82 P/GP in the MHL... while also playing for the senior national team.

Demidov had 1.45 P/GP in the MHL this year and 2 games in the KHL with no points.

The 2025 first round pick was traded to Calgary. Does that mean if Florida finishes in the bottom ten, we get to steal Caglary's Florida's first rounder? Sounds like a Ponzi scheme...

We can trade our first round picks to teams with conditions that cause them to steal other teams' picks...

Signing Marc Staal so Tortorella plays him 25 minutes a night is a sneaky tank play.

Briere has a to find a way to tank so spiritual leader Tortorella doesn’t know it’s happening. Not very easy.

Yeah, that's interesting. There should be a condition on the Florida pick sliding it if the 2024 slides to Philly. Unless they removed the condition when they made the Tkatchuk trade. Someone should ask capfriendly. Or Danny B.

A lot of people are seriously underestimating Celebrini.

There is no point in thinking about how good Celebrini will be because we won't get him. It's like marveling at how nice it would be to have a Corvette when I know I am going to still be in my 2007 Kia Rio5. I have to convince myself that it is better to have the Kia so I can cope.

Another reason is that we are taking Demidov anyway. We are going to ice a top line of Ciernak - Demidov - Michkov (in the future) and our second line is going to be Lukas Reichel - Frosty - Binksy.
