This team is so up and down, and that happens when rebuilding. I think all, including me have to let the year play out and see where we stand. Some of us, me included may be hitting the panic button a bit early, probably because we have endured two decades of losing.

I like Quenville. He has a proven record with a young squad. Gallant seems to wear out his welcome awful fast. Good organizations have stability from top to bottom.
I feel like, if a change is needed (and it may be), it would come best prior to the start of next season. I agree on Quenville, I also think that right now is too early for Quenville, they need a Bear type for a bit of time yet. I'm basing that on Savard having coached the Hawks, remembering I was very impressed with their forecheck at the time, but knowing something was lacking and then Quenville coming in and things start taking off. Biggest issue we have in any "fantasy" hopes of any recreation of that, is no Kane/Toews and I still don't see the supporting roles as mature enough.... perhaps good enough to obtain said recreation. I know Savard was a pro (an incredible pro) and Bear was not, but I think the communication/interaction was similar, with the consideration that it has to be even greater these days.

I think Q is the only guy I'm interested in. Gallant does seem to wear out his welcome quickly so he concerns me a bit for such a young, probably going to be getting even younger team.

In reality I couldn't make the decision to replace AT if it were up to me. It's hard not to be loyal to him. Q at least gets me thinking but he'll most likely be off the market by the off-season when I think it would be best to change coaches if they're going to do it.

I do think a shake up trade may be needed, but it shouldn't be forced. I don't think it will happen until the right trade comes about. That may not happen until other teams actually start thinking about selling. I figure by then Marino may be ready. Still hoping we make a push for Provorov, getting Marino back, allowing the HC to "throw in" a current young NHL defender or 2 within a lateral forward trade.
So I'd be surprised if any kind of personnel movement, coaches or players, happen until the new year. But I do expect something to happen before the trade deadline.

There are rumblings in Chicago that Richardson is on the hot seat.

Rumblings Q could be going to Detroit.

Bear is the fifth longest tenured NHL coach, I would say thats pretty patient and giving him a lot of slack considering the results so far. I actually don't see BA making a move unless this season is a disaster, meaning below 70 points. The minute BA decides to fire him, he is admitting his mistake with Bears extension, I just don't see it, even this summer.

I could see Smith changing out BA first, then coaching change follows this summer, again, depends on our success this year or failure.
I also don't see BA brining in a Gallant or Q, both vet coaches would have a ton of power, I don't think BA wants a more equal voice, clearly with Bear, BA is the boss. Lots of management dynamics with the GM/coach situation. I hope the team gets a hot streak going and we get to 90 points+, make a legitimate run at the playoffs!

This team is a train wreck. Not enjoyable to even watch. A lot of passengers again. Crouse is likely sulking because he wasn’t given the C. Keller isn’t captain material, too soft and doesn’t hold the voice.

Team, in my opinion has been stagnant or even taken a step or two back. Shouldn’t have moved em when they did. Should have had one more year in the desert to facilitate a much easier move.

That new style backhand saucer in the middle of the ice just drives me bonkers, it isn't afternoon shinny. Stay focused on the play.
The very soft ones I am assuming you’re referring to? They end up the other way or completely miss?

Yeah the ones like you once only saw in warmups. If you can't see where it's going and can't get some force on it the smart play is almost always don't do it. And it's not just a Utah thing.

Tips hockey was the most boring hockey ever.. was able to watch the first and maybe a bit of the second. His modified trap sucked the life out of me. This team is being built to be an offensive team. Panthers just proved you don't need to be a boring defensive team to win the cup. We just need to stop taking stupid penalties and draw more of them!

I think Smith and his Armstrong will have a big voice who they hire as coach if Bear is fired. I don't think anything happens until after the end of the year and see where Utah is at then. Right now we are on pace for 82pts. which would be 5 pts. better than last year which I would consider a disappointment. 98pts. was needed last year for a wild card spot. If Utah can get 87-92pts. I would consider that a good year. It will be tough.

Right now the team is a .500 hockey club sitting at 23rd overall.

24th in goals for
17th in goals against
24th powerplay
23rd penalty kill

Still a lot of room for improvement.

Hard to evaluate, unfortunately, missing 3 of top 4 RHD.

Winning % is at .416
We need to start winning games!
A trade is needed to improve the roster, but I don't think it'll happen until the new year. Will Durzi and Marino be back by then (rhetorical question)?
Would it be worth it to trade our 1st this season? I see some saying it's not a good draft (but I hear that almost every year).
Keep getting teased on the FA&T board about who's available, but it's usually speculation for the near future and based on recent losses.

2nd fewest regulation wins in the league :(

There are teams in the east that are getting desperate...maybe BA can finally land a top 6 C to pair with Keller? My dream is still Brady Tkachuk...

I still have hopes with a trade with Ottawa, but Tkachuk brings back memories of his Dad and contract negotiations. I still think Pinto would do great centering Keller, but so wouldn't Norris.
I know it's too soon, but keep an eye on our current goalie situation. Stauber may turn out to be a special player and we always had luck when it came to goaltenders.
Still hoping we trade for Provorov, I think he would re-sign here, but I don't want to wait too long, we need him now.

I doubt very much Brady is available, but even if he was, the ask would be more than Utah could afford. One would think Ottawa would want one or more roster players + top prospects +draft picks for Tkachuk.

We aren't getting Brady unless we would trade Cooley and 2 first round picks.
