Official 2012 Entry Draft Thread

Jordan Schmaltz!!! :yo:

He played right over by my house on the Chicago Mission U16 and tore it up!

2 Chicago MM guys getting drafted that year!! Galchenyuk who DESTROYED CYA and Schmaltz who was amazing on CM!!!

dont forget about Trevor Morbeck who played for Team Illinois as well...kid could be a top 30 pick next June as well....

Absolutely awesome job TG, mad props for that blog!!!

But you do have 1 big omission in Dylan Blujus from Brampton of the OHL. I cant get your page to load past #23, so if he is on this list then I am sorry, but there is no way that the 6'3 190lb dman is not in the top 15 for dmen for this draft. I would even say he is a top 10 dman currently with the way he has performed. All around solid player that I feel is going to be a HUGE riser.

Also keep an eye on Grant Webermin -Windsor and Max Iafrate - Plymouth as two big time risers as well. Both kids are opposites at their positions, but both will be on this list next year imo.

Great work, keep it up.

Well done on the Blog, looking forward to the update.

I just have one question, how is this guy not ranked number 1? This is definitely the most badass picture of them all

I'd be pretty shocked if Brady Skjei from the NTDP isn't a top 30 d-man for the draft when it rolls around. He may end up much higher than that.

I originally had him in the Top 30, i'm kind of WHL bias because I live on the western side. Plus I don't know abour European and American prospects, I just go what people tell me.

Pretty impressed by Kelowna RW Colton Sissons tonight against the Hitmen. Had a goal and 2 assists (including a great play in OT to set up the GWG) and got first star of the night. Tenacious, quick, very aggressive in the offensive end. Good shot, and he was pretty active defensively too, back-checking and taking the body. Created a lot tonight and was very noticable.

Here it is guys.

If anyone wants to contribute, send scouting reports etc, hit me up with a PM and i'm sure i'll include you.

Having watched a number of 67's games lately, if Ceci keeps up the way he is playing, he will move up substantially. He is really starting to involve himself in the play. Through the first 25 games he had 5 points, next 36 games saw 25 points. Its the way he is playing, he looks like the most NHL ready guy on a very good 67's team, and that included some decent prospects at the forward spot such as Toffoli.

Yeah Ceci's really starting to come around. He's been one of the best players on the ice in several of the recent 67s games I've watched. Hard to say but if he keeps it up on a solid playoff run it could go a long way to making him a pre-season top 10-12 pick going into next year. If not, the 2012 really is looking like somethin'.

Top 3 with a few posters liking him 1st overall.

AmericanDream is the only non Windsor fan to say it and I can think if a few reasons why. Definitely some bias.

At who said that, I'd say hes top 5 or top 7, would definitely say Murrays ahead of him, and I could see Reinhart going above him. I'd have him at 5 behind Yakupov, Grigorenko, Murray and Galchenyuk.

Scoutman also has Ebert 1st overall.

I do agree that Murray is pulling away though it's still close, but he's going in the top 3 no doubt about that. I see Yakupov, Murray, and Ebert all have a great chance to go 1st overall. Grigorenko and Reinhart are the biggest wildcards and could go very high also. Grigorenko has talent to also go 1st overall, but I say the Russian factor plays into it and he falls. Reinhart I don't see going 1st overall, but can make the jump into the 2nd to 5th spot.
