Well if it's not based on 82 games then it's closer, but still quite a bit of drop off for some of these guys, I'd say conservative with a touch of pessimism. I agree I think Richards will drop off, but don't think he'll drop almost .5 a ppg worth of production. Hagelin and Callahan are close then considering injury. Think Nash will be around .85 PPG myself. Just nit picky stuff on most guys but a few of them drop off a cliff lol.

i made a poll on the main boards ranking where the Rangers offense is, most voted around 15th-20th. I don't see a problem considering my goal production is on par with that ranking (16th in GPG in 2011-12, 20th in GPG in 2013)

im dreamin' big.

Nitpicking, but both Rick Nash and Ryan Callahan have a history of putting up more goals than assists.

thats cus nash had no support and offense was Nash-centric and under Torts, our offense wasn't exactly balanced and structured either.

Also, Callahan over steps his bounds as a third line grinder by scoring all those goals so. That third liner.

How dare he score those goals! Those are for other players! Legitimate top six players, like David Clarkson!

I think both will continue to have another goal or two more than assists

You have everyone on the team regressing, some by a significant amount in PPG except Krieder, Boyle, and Girardi.

There are two possible explanations for that.

1) He's an eternal pessimist, almost all of his posts are pessimistic, so he believes this.

2) He doesn't believe it, but he can't be optimistic in his predictions after being pessimistic year round.

Probably #1, I've never met a bigger pessimist than him.

Brassard had 41 points in 59 games last year and that's not even mentioning that he was nearly PPG for the team that he will actually be playing on. So the idea that he was always a 40 point player goes out the window when he does it in 59 games. But of course it's Kershaw, he won't be happy till he's miserable.

Nash - 35/35
Stepan - 20/45
Callahan - 25/25
Richards - 15/45
Brassard - 15/35
Hagelin - 20/25
Kreider - 20/15
Zucca - 10/30
Pouliot - 10/15
Moore - 5/15
Pyatt - 5/15
Boyle - 5/10
Dorsett - 5/10

MDZ - 10/35
McDonagh - 5/25
Girardi - 5/25
Staal - 5/20
Stralman - 5/10
Moore - 5/15
Johnson - 1/5
Falk - 1/5

227 goals which would've ranked us 13th in NHL 2 seasons ago.

Didn't include Asham and Powe. We could also get minor contributions from Miller, Mash and some of the A guys.

You realize the kind of people who vote in those polls right? Irregardless, doesn't matter. I don't see everyone on the team regressing, and basing point production off an HF poll is just silly. But to each their own.

Maybe he's afraid he will jinx them if he shows any semblance of positivity? IDK.

?

Speak for yourself man. Lundqvist is the Melo of Goalies, rather start Biron, a playoff choker, etc.

if it makes you guys happier, I predict this team to be top 5 in least GA this season. That should effectively put them at around 95-100 pts in the standings.

Uh, Kersh, no offense, but didn't you just win HFNYR's most pessimistic by a landslide?

Not sure why people are putting Pouliot down for 20-25 points; barring an injury I'd almost guarantee he's easily going to top 35.

10/11 & 11/12 he surpassed 30 playing about 12 minutes a game, zero PP time, as well as missing a few games.

Scored at a .58 PPG pace last year (albeit with better linemates at times then he'll find on the Rangers), once again with zero PP time.

This guy will likely be the one shuffled in for Callahan/Hagelin while they are out with injuries, and IMO is not that far of a longshot to get top 6 minutes.

Obviously he's pretty inconsistent (which is why he ended up here on the contract he got), but he's going to get a chance to play on a line with a center that can dish it and he's no stranger to scoring inside the hash marks.

I think he turns out to be what everyone thought Pyatt was going to be based off the first 5~ games last year.

The kind of people? Yeah, unbiased spectators for the most part giving an honest thought on the team. For sure the main boards can get quite irrational at times, but I was simply curious on what the majority of posters thought on the Rangers forward corps and for the most part, I believe most voted around 15th-20th.

I do this every year and overestimate with my glass half full outlook.

Not doing it this time.

I feel like Kristo will be involved somewhere along the line, though

first we have to see where guys are going to play before we can make predictions like this dont we? like is Richards gonna get a shot at the 1c or play 3c? etc.

The Rangers should easily be in the top 7 teams offensively this year. It was disgusting how much Torts held this team back offensively. His system was completely incompetent. He essentially had the team playing the PK all game.

Provided everyone stays healthy and plays a full season
