The halo was a bit odd since it had a mirror on it..

There were no surprises on the MRI. Now it is about figuring out how the heck to treat the bulging disk before it gets worse.

I'm going to try acupuncture so I'm now waiting for the doctor to refer me over to the acupuncture clinic at the BI.

I got ripped off I never had a halo. I have three bulging disks in my neck and get massage and acupuncture. Works pretty good. I would suggest getting some good pillows. You'd be shocked how much better it will feel. Also keep those muscles around it loose. Maybe some PT and try not to stress that's the worst think for mine.

Lou has dealt with that a whole bunch over the years. He's got a ton of hands on experience with them. Oh wait, never mind. You said bulging disk. My bad...:naughty:

Sounds like we have a NESN rinkside reporter lurking here on HFBoards! Ah, those herniated disks...

Invasion. Sie kommen!

Colored even, i have only seen b&w version.

I can not fathom what it must have been like in the first wave of landing boats knowing there was an excellent chance you would be shot.

How the Allies kept it a secret until D-Day itself is just an incredible story.

Hated Hagler. Respected him, but always wanted him to lose. Hearns I loved. Duran I despised. Watching Hearns destroy him in two rounds was phenomenal.

My most hated fighter ever was Larry Holmes. Watching Mike Tyson pummel him was one of my greatest sports memories ever.

Yeah, I really despised the Holmes era as well. He was just such a boring fighter and never really did anything in his defenses. To me, he was just a decent fighter in a sea of mediocrity during that time.

While I'm sorry to hear that you've lost your job I'm delighted with the results of your biopsy. Pretty scary waiting for the results isn't it? I know I was when the tumor on my skull was biopsied.

Yeah, it totally put the job situation in perspective!

Thanks all for your kind words.

I should brush up on my Star Spangled Banner, maybe.... ? :sarcasm:

How does one completely change careers?

I genuinely have no idea what I want to do, but what I do know is that I'm totally burnt out in my current job and feel like I'm getting less than nothing out of it at this point.

I've been in retail & retail banking for 7+ years and it's time for a change, but I feel totally stuck in my situation. School isn't an option for me right now.

Unimaginable.

My little personal victories that i am proud of seem so small compared to those moments and fears that so many young men had to deal with in those situations.

I have no idea how you're going to do it,but do it before you're looking back at a lifetime of unhappiness at work.

I know you said you're in sales, but are you looking to stay in that field, but sell a solution outside the realm of banking, or are you trying to get out of sales altogether?

Trades are a good career. That's what I do, HVAC. You need school to make real money but there are companies that'll hire people completely green as helpers and then they pay for schooling (2 nights a week type school). And then you move up and make more money even without a license. My path was helper/installer for one year, maintenance tech, service tech, commercial service tech. Only took about 2-3 years to do it. I think electricians and plumbers do well too. But if you have a degree you may not want to go into trades. Mines essentially worthless after I made the decision. Then again, no idea what your situation is. I got into it when I was 23 and that's kind of late even

Back to the thread. Just booked our next vacation (a quick one). 4 days in Cuba. Has anyone been yet? I'm interested in seeing all the old cars and all that but I heard it's mostly cash only. But also heard everything is very cheap.

So why in the T-mobile lemonade stand ad that is playing on TV recently is the lemon on the stand red? Maybe a dig at Verizon's corporate colors? Idiot kid?
Regardless, I don't think I'm going to a lemonade stand with a red lemon. With or without hidden fees, like the standing on my lawn fee, etc..

While I do like having consistent 3-day weekends, these 10 hour days are tough. I used to work 12 hour days, but those days are long gone, and the 10 hour days are long enough. Add in my commute, and I'm eating dinner these days at 9 or later. Blech.

I`m in the middle of doing it right now. What I was told was when undertaking something like this that I`ll need to prepare myself understanding that looking for a Full Time career in a different field is a full time job so Mrs Odaat and I cut some things from our expenses, I threw the towel in on the Hospitality career and I attended a ton of really great workshops with a local Employment Agency which qualified me for a program which offers potential employers a subsidy of $10,000-$15,000 if they were to hire me.

I`m just waiting on the document so I can present it to potential employers to arrive in the mail any day. It`s a bit frightening making "the switch" but I was done in my business, tired of being my age (really old;)) and still living the life of getting home at 1am.

Good luck, you can do this, check all resources in your area, I`d be shocked if there wasn`t a government funded program that offers this same type of option that I just qualified for, my caseworker calls the document "The Game Changer" :)

Do it asap. Same job for 27 years. I hate it. Pays the bills though, but there is no gratification. Do something you love and get used to living off whatever salary that is and you'll love your daily life.

Sounds to me like youre looking for more "connection". Look for an industry or organization where you can help and be of service to others. Even if it's temporary, it will fulfill what your looking for inside.
Since you have financial experience, I'd look for someplace that needs money advice and/or management.
