Off topic thread **** numbers, cyclists, and dentists who shoot lions

Man, the online dating sites are filled with girls/women who are absolute losers and have mastered the art of polishing a turd via the online profile. I did that briefly and while there are some decent girls on there, most of them were complete losers. I guess the same could be said for men on there though. No disrespect to Bandit - I know others that have met and married on websites.

I think there is a glutton of women in their mid 20's that are losers. I'm sure there are plenty of guys too but I don't date men. Let me define loser: no ambition, low paying job with little to no redeeming value and no possibility of upward movement (retail, customer service etc.), lives at home or lives with relative, perpetually going to school but never finishing en route to a worthless degree like psychology, lots of consumer debt with a nice icing of school loans, bad credit and often heavy drinkers.

I think that is more of a societal problem than just an online dating phenomenon

The second paragraph was kind of a synopses of that and not just online dating. This is through people met at work and just life in general.

I worked with this guy who had a twin sister. This girl literally followed him around the country finding a job every where he moved as he moved up the ladder in his career. Except she had no life. She did menial work and clinged to their existence as twins as her sole meaning of life. I asked him if he was annoyed by it and I think it eventually got to him but he couldn't really say anything without feeling guilty. But man, talk about having a stage 5 clinger as a sister!

Next step up the ladder should come with a condo so he can just leave in the middle of the night with no forwarding address.

Oh he has since moved on but I thought it was very strange. Twin or not, it's crazy to follow somebody else around as they carve out their career while you just ride sidecar doing crap work. I guess a lot of women who are housewives kind of do that. Maybe there was something Freudian going on there.

I haven't seen one desirable profile. I can't imagine what they would be like in person.

Some people just have no desire or self-confidence to put in the effort to make it on their own, at least not fully.

It's also much easier to provide for yourself when you biggest need and cost -housing and related housing costs like the power bill- are paid by whomever.

It can be quite amazing to see how many people honestly feel like they are supporting themselves, all the while living rent free some place. Male or female as well.

I think in the instance of these twins it is a codependency issue.

I mean look at what happened to Bob and Doug

I guess, if it was really his experience.

My experience on that site was very different. Just about everyone I met from there was a pretty sincere woman. Of course, my target audience was much older perhaps, 40s and 50s, but I can honestly say I didn't have one bad experience from dating on that site, and I must have dated about 35 women from there.

Sure some were "different" but I wouldn't categorize any of them as losers.
