You know what always bothered me? We are the Maple Leafs. We’re sometimes called the “buds” but we do nothing to promote the delicious syrup that comes form maple trees. I think once MLSE begins to market the endless syrup opportunities it will unlock the cup drought for the Leafs. Leafs syrup, candies it’s endless.

A few years ago I tapped sugar maple trees on my mother-in-law's property and made it into syrup. It was so unbelievably good.

I read it takes about 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. Seems like a lot of work, even the temp you boil it off at is specific, not as simple as just put it on high and boil, for some reason. I agree though stuff I make seems so much better, probably just psychological.

Most syrup made by laymen is B grade which is darker and more earthy, I can’t stand the A grade anymore we buy from the Mennonites down the road they always have B grade available……..

That's correct, you boil off 39 gallons of water to leave 1 gallon syrup.

In Alaska, they don't have maple trees so they have to make birch syrup...and that ratio is over 100 to 1.

My go to spot for all things maple syrup is this spot in northern NS.
Great restaurant.

The Sceptres should change their name to the Sugar Maples.

So many mental health issues these days, and the healthcare system simply doesn't have the resources to deal with it.
It's so bad it's hard to know where to start, I'm against throwing mentally ill people into mental institutions like we used to do but what do you do with people who forget to take there medications or take stuff that makes them a public danger?

It's an absolute mess

Where I work we feed and house them and provide them with dignity and respect until they can care for themselves.

This is what happens when drugs are legal and/or when the healthcare crumbles and the mentally ill are left to fend for themselves on the streets……
Those are not causes, but symptoms of a much bigger problem of people trying to learn to cope and adjust to all the slippery slopes we’ve gone down. How many things are around us that every person knows is not the truth, but we’re constantly being told it is truth.

That's good. I just find it weird that no matter the issues that arise and things that get pointed out, the polls virtually exactly the same. Never seen that before, not in Canada. Land of when a party screws up they essentially lose official status at the next vote.

I stopped voting decades ago.. they're all liars and crooks.

Doesn't matter to me which impotent senile old man grabs the reigns of power. I try to stay out of political discussions just for that reason. I gave up my right to vote so I shouldn't bitch when I'm not happy the country is being run into the ground.

I wouldn't expect anything less from a cabal of lying crooks anyway.
