Might be heading down to Radical Road Brewery later this afternoon. My buddy Neil makes amazing calzones and the beers are made right at the location at Queen St and Jones.

I was there last Sunday and grabbed a curryblurst calzone and 3 different pints.

He was also testing some new wings to add to the menu and wanted me to be the guinea pig. Didn't have to twist my arm:laugh::View attachment 880906View attachment 880907View attachment 880908View attachment 880910View attachment 880911View attachment 880912View attachment 880905

Love that place.
Maybe I'll see you there some time. Neil is a very cool guy and friendly.

I love the vibe at Radical. Very chill and reminds me of The Only Cafe that way.

His calzones are top notch!

I just ate 12 oreos thanks to you I hope you're happy
Here is some more porn for you.

Groove Bar wings from the Danforth. Hot and BBQ wings and their ceasar is killer there too:

I'm back at Radical Road right now. Having a couple of beers and a pepperoni calzone.

Here's a write up on my buddy Neil and his calzones:

Big Mac Calzone??? Damm!
Love these small business stories. People like that are so passionate & dedicated. Thanks for sharing.

Another spot that is always great is Olde Yorke Fish and Chips on Laird. Top notch halibut and fries among other things:

McSorley's on Bayview as well. Great steak sandwich, steak frites, burgers etc.

$7 Beau's Lug tread pints on Friday nights too.

Now you’re in my backyard. Olde Yorke is the reigning champs in the city for fish and chips in my books, and I love me some fish and chips. Had the chance to get to know one of the sisters that owns that place, nice people. There some other good joints, Duckworths, Reliable, but they’re the champs. Amsterdam restaurant across the street even lists their fish and chips on the menu as “the second best” fish and chips on the street lol..

McSorleys is just one of those great neighborhood staples, good place, and unpretentious as hell for the middle of Leaside. Love the free peanuts barrel. Originals used to be good but it fell off the cliff in the years before it closed down.

Totally agree on all counts. My friends and I have always laughed at how cool Amsterdam was to write that on their menu.

I also like going to Leaside Pub as well because it has that same down to earth feel like McSorley's and the food is pretty good as well.

I live in the Leaside area but grew up in East York so I always seem to find my way back there on the Danforth.

Some "Leaside Pub" action from last Monday night. They typically have different pints on sale every night. Mondays it's London Fuller Pride. Also grabbed the baked penne with meatballs which was very good.

I might just make a pit stop there tonight.

Being in Nova Scotia, fish and chips are a matter of pride for restaurants.
If anyone is ever out this way, two of my favorites are Pleasent St. Diner in Dartmouth for haddock tips and Antonio's Seafood and Grill in Digby for the best Bay of Fundy scallops.

You really can't go wrong anywhere you go for fish in this province.1718056508888.png

Interesting writeup, thanks for sharing. I've been trying to wrap my head around the idea of a Big Mac Calzone since reading this yesterday, still struggling.
