Pilgrimage Festival dropped a pretty solid lineup today
I just can't anymore. We have supported them every year and the lineups got worse, less variety and fewer artists, starting last year while the ticket cost went up. Though I would agree that this line up is solid in comparison to last year. We're sitting this one out unless we decide to buy a wristband from a desperate seller the week of the show.
This just reflects my own personal opinion based on their pivot from their roots of a more rock/americana/country to mainly americana/country. It really bit us last year because we always buy early bird. Did so last year when they basically changed their format without warning and never increased the price vs. early bird so felt pretty screwed by that.
Some previous year top artist examples:
2022: Brandi Carlisle/Chris Stapleton
2021: Dave Mathews Band/Black Keys/Maren Morris/Cage the Elephant
2019: Foo Fighters/The Killers/Keith Urban
2018: Jack White/Chris Stapleton/Lionel Richie/Dave&Tim (this show got canceled middle of first day due to crazy thunderstorms)
2017: Justin Timberlake/Eddie Vedder (top line dropped a bit here BUT the next level of artists were really good)
etc.
Again our main gripe has been the format change without warning, the reduced number of artists, and increased cost. But hey it's one of the richest areas of the country. I'm sure they'd pay for basically anything.
Just look at the posters from previous years if you want to see what I mean by the reduced artist count. It's crazy.
