I think Florida could be an actual destination. They have a lot of young pieces and could afford to move a high pick (even if not first overall).

It's unlikely, but I'd love to get Huberdeau.

Some proposals i have read over the days:

Spezza for Oshie and 2nd.

Spezza, JGP, Weir for Evander Kane

Spezza for Smith-Pelly, Etem.

Spezza for 1st overall

I'd be fine with any of these above deals.

I doubt it, but i wish this team would stay away from non-elite prospects and picks in this years draft in the 20s with regards to Spezza because it will only take away from the quality of player that can 'play now'

Huberdeau is the type of player we should be going after even if we have to add.

We're angry now. When Bishop trends back to normal we'll see if we're still mad we traded Jim Carey for a 4th and a diabetes badger.

Not cool to describe someone who has this disease in such a derogatory way. I'd suggest you learn more about type 1 diabete at www.jdrf.ca
You probably know someone who has type 1 diabetes. Just sayin.

Who knows perhaps Spezza would prefer to stay on the east coast?

Can you imagine if he ANA, STL, SJ, LA, etc.. Were on his list?

Florida has a lot of young talent, and Luongo (although a bit past his prime). Get the right kind of coach in there that can use all that young talent, and who knows what they'll turn into.

The thing is if they don't get the public money they want i really question what will happen with the team.

Wait a second.....isn't that arena down there totally profitable. Like, one of the busiest arenas in the state? Isn't that why the Panthers were considered to be super stable, even with twenty fans in the building? So what the heck are they looking for public money?

Funny thing is if you read the other pages you would see the article where they said he would be willing to go to Florida.

The article also indicated his modified NTC was 10 teams which he would go to which is incorrect so I am not sure how reliable it is.

I've actually been lucky enough to go there for a game. That arena is everything I wish the CTC could be. It's just across the street from a huge, renowned mall (Sawgrass Mills). The building itself looks so much cleaner, and wide-open than the CTC.

Damn, I love that place.

Behind you, look out
Let's speculate on the teams Spezza would likely list as not interested in.

Scratch any Canadian teams except Toronto (hometown team)
That is 5.

Can probably scratch off the Islanders.
I would guess Carolina would be on the list.
Buffalo because they are rebuilding and because they are close to the Canadian market and would play in Canada 10 times plus another 10 games in Buffalo against Canadian teams.

That is 8 teams.

Add New Jersey, they don't call that place the armpit of the United States for no reason. That's 9.

Edited to add: Could Nashville be #10? Seems like a franchise that is condemned to settle for last wildcard spot forever and ever.

It's how business is done down there.

From what I remember of reading up on the financial aspect of teams during the lockout the same people who own the Panthers own the arena so the arena itself makes a ton of cash but not the Panthers.

I could be wrong however: check out the business board for more information. It's a great place to learn more about how the NHL actually functions.
