Off Season Move(s) Thread

Probably is, but I’m not really believing in it while his D game is rumored to be such shit. Not our style.

I don't even know what our style is anymore tbh, you could be right

Not sure about rumor; reason would be a shake up for a team that might be stalling, younger, more offensive.

I don’t consider very likely though, tbh.
I would be completely fine with someone like him in a trade. Think it gives them cap flexibility/certainty to improve the winger position either this offseason or the following.

I just feel like you’d hear some rumblings if he was somebody that was a realistic option. It’s why I think Peterka is the most likely player we’re gonna be bringing in.

I think Peterka is a higher end player than Cirelli. I see him having 80+ point potential. That would be the type of winger depth we need without having a high end center.
I do agree that Peterka is a higher end offensive player than Cirelli and would prefer Peterka than Cirelli. However, Cirelli would help in other departments that would be valuable to this team (PK, defending late game leads, covering for Ek when he is out injured, etc).

It's because he's not a realistic target. He's just a name that is possible in theory for trade until July 1st.

He'd be great to have in MN, but Tampa has 0 reason to trade him and nobody to replace what he adds to their team (d-zone, PK, etc).

Can anyone explain why Oghren seems consistently mentioned as a trade piece? Seems a decent amount of Wild fans are pretty quick to include him in proposals. The dude has decent size, clearly had a good season down in the AHL putting up relatively close to a PPG on a clearly garbage team and projects to be a top 6 NHL winger. Which this team also clearly needs. Yet, he's probably included in half or better of the trade proposals since not long after the Wild drafted him. I mean I guess if you can package him to get a true #1 center, fine. I'm in on that idea. But, it's like he's just a GD toss in even for something as low as a 2nd line C. That seems ignorantly shortsighted and relatively asinine to me. I don't get it. What am I missing?

A bunch of mouth breathers. Can't even spell his name right. I'm pretty sure Öhgren will get a decent shot at the start of next year if he has a good camp. Now he's more used to the smaller ice and the NA style of hockey. He's no generational talent, but he's willing to put in the work to improve his play and will only get better.

My assumption would be because he’s one of our more desirable young assets that’s not already on the team, thus having greater perceived value.

Lol. Dick. I'm usually obsessive about spelling, but the ONE time I get someone's name wrong, I get lambasted for it. 🤣

Just so you know, I'll be watching...waiting and when you miss one, I'm all over it. :DD

That and I don't know how you get that damn umlaut over the letter. That's weird shit we don't use over here any more. We quit using those after Motley Crue made it big. No one's used it since. I think that was how it went down anyway. Pretty sure.

I BELIEVE if you can’t use the umlaut, you would spell it Oehgren.

I’m basing this from the German I know. Obviously Oehgren is Swedish so the language rules could, and likely are, different.

German is weird. The V's sound like F's. W's sound like V's. They have ridiculously long words that mean entire sentences. There's that weird letter looks like capital B that I still don't understand. Die/der/das...f*** right off with that. I still have trouble with it.

I've got about a 1st/2nd grader level understanding of German.

Well, the only thing I'm sure of is that I'm making at least one big grammar/spelling mistake in every post in here. And I wasn't even aware of your version of his name in your post above until you pointed it out just now, lol.
We have 3 extra keys for the letters Å,Ä and Ö over here, so I'm not aware of any tricks on a US keyboard to create a nice, big swedish Ö. Except for the old copy/paste route, of course.

Can’t say I know for sure on Android but if on iPhone/iPad, hold down the letter you are needing to adjust. So in this case the “O”. You will see several options.

Typically Ws and Vs are transposed in English v German.

Yes, yes they do. The word I absolutely love in German is Schildkröte (turtle) which directly translated is ShieldFrog.

The eszett ß in German is just 2 S's (SS).

Yes, articles are a pain in the ass. There's no rhyme or reason to them. I asked my German friends how they know which to use and their advice was, "You just have to learn the language. It doesn't make any sense", so that was comforting.

I'm sure they're there somewhere. You do some ham fisted mish-mash of key strokes to get it. I've used similar for that goofy 0 with the slash through it the Norweigians use. They, who also like to f*** with the rest of the world with strange letters. The Finns need to quit with the vowels. The Czech need to take those vowels from the Finns. Swedes apparently have a monopoly on the umlaut, but they license it out on occasion to a few of the surrounding countries. And the Norwegians...who knows what their deal is. That dopey A with the circle on it, the mushed up AE thing...c'mon. What are we doing here?

The alt code for the lowercase o with umlaut (ö) is ALT+0246, and the alt code for the uppercase o with umlaut (Ö) is ALT+0214.
