Off Season Move(s) Thread

Heavy drinker, combative, rude, abusive, not very bright, doesn’t understand how to manage people. Our GM.
He will sabotage himself, it’s inevitable. The only question is how many years back will he set this franchise. Terrible hire.

Hey hey hey! There is no negative talk about Guerin. He is the promise GM and will lead us to. Cup

He was the best defensemen in terms of points this season in the AHL, which was a disaster.

McBain, Lindberg for prospects. Ian Cole mentioned in the past Minnesota had a reputation and players didn't want to sign. Talbot had issues with Guerin. Guerin got a dressing down by the league and forced one of their staff to quit. Haula had an issue with the organization.
McBain didn't see a path to the NHL with Minnesota, had nothing to do with the team/location itself.
Same with Lindberg - who is playing where now? Oh, right. He's playing in Finland.

Those two seem more like players that didn't want to put in the work in the lower levels (AHL) to make it to the big show. Lindberg played 2 seasons in the AHL then "fled" back to Finland.

McBain spent 0 seasons in the AHL but is doing ok in the pros, I guess. He's a ~.25pt/g player

That's like 5 players out of how many that have played for the Wild? I mean, by law of averages, you're going to have people upset with any organization when you have that many people in the organization over the years. I bet if you looked into ANY other team, you could find players that were upset or didn't want to play there.

EDIT: Is Guerin perfect? Not by a long shot but to insinuate Minnesota is dead zone for players to sign because of a few players grumbling over the years, IMHO, is just asinine.

That’s not on Spacek in my books.
I was just saying it’s probably impossible for these guys there that are trying to crack the nhl and may be ready for nhl time to feel positive about being with the wild. It’s got to feel like no upside at all.

It doesn’t matter how bad Merrill or Bogo or Chisholm were this year. They are getting the minutes.

Yes it did. Guerin couldn't sell him on a team that was in need of centers.

He could have been a decent back up. Who knows.

Perfect depth center and his face off is getting better.

Off the top of my head. There are more. I know Pouliot, Parrish, Suter, Parise and Staal had issues with the organization.

It isn't just a few players. Cole in an interview basically said players did not want to come to Minnesota

What competition? Jiricek? Bogo? Merrill.

The thing is Guerin is complaining about not having depth and then the prospects that should be depth are showing frustration with the organization. The complaints that players are coming up about Minnesota aren't new.

Hell Khus was just gushing over Boston and he seems much happier in that organization than he was in Minnesota.

You can put two and two together.
Boston is playing Khusnutdinov in a top 6 role. Of course he’s going to like it there better. Minnesota is a playoff team. Khusnutdinov isn’t a top 9 player on a playoff team.

Except that isn't the quote: Bruins Promising Forward Wants To Stay Put

"Perfect, perfect, perfect," Khusnutdinov said. "So happy, yeah [if he gets an extension]. One more time, it's the perfect organization... It's good hockey. Good trainers, players, coaches, everything."

He wasn't also in a top 6 role. He was in a top 9 role.

So much negativity. You can count the teams better positioned for both longterm and short term success than us on one hand. We will be good this year, and likely for many years after.

Who the heck cares about Khusnutdinov, Ian Cole or McBain? Replacement level players

Pretty sure some people have been saying this for 15 years

Rossi and Spacek

Because we NEED something to complain about...

I think a lot of fans are tired of getting bounced out of the first round and the lack of a good free agent class. Nelson and ...whoever really doesn't move the needle. And now another young player wants out of the organization?
He never said he wants out of the org.

We are tired of it, but common sense suggests removing the malignant tumor that was the buyouts combined with the arrival of a half dozen excellent prospects makes for happier times.

Rossi wanting out is more about Rossi feeling unappreciated and unwanted by the FO. I don’t blame him, but it’s hardly emblematic of a culture issue. It’s also a premature issue because he hasn’t been moved yet. Nor has he proven that Guerin was wrong to doubt him.

A bunch of negativity over stuff that either hasn’t happened, or is in the rear view window.

Guerin isn’t perfect, but we have a lot to be excited about. You’d think we are Buffalo the way people whine around here

Yes this screams I want to stay with the organization

David is playing in the World Championship partly to get out of Minnesota. He doesn't have a chance there.
Ok. Who on the roster do you currently put him in over? Does he get playing time over Jiricek? Buium? Where does he fit?

Haven't we've been saying this since Granlund? Also what half dozen prospects? We keep kicking this down the road. It was Bankier, Spacek, Khus, Wally, Ohgren and Peart and none of them have made an impact on the organization.

Everyone keeps mentioning these great prospects. Khus was rated as the 7th best in the organization and he's now gone.

Rossi has busted his butt to get where he is at. And the organization keeps telling him it's not enough. What more does he need to do? Also Rossi isn't the only issue. The treatment of Rossi has a lot of shades with how they handled Fiala and luckily that one turned out okay.

No one thinks we're Buffalo but for a team that is told next year, next year we keep getting blue balled. More so the way most of you talk you'd think we were Colorado or Dallas or Florida.

Bingo.

It's been "we have a bright future, our time is coming" for the better part of 15 years.

Sorry, but adding some middle six and middle pairing players to this roster via free agency and prospects doesn't get us from where we are to a Cup.
