11:50am: The Red Sox will receive Hanrahan and infielder Brock Holt for Sands, Pimentel, Melancon, and Ivan DeJesus Jr. according to Rosenthal and Heyman (Twitter links). Both teams have since announced the trade.

I like that trade for the Pirates. Sold high on Hanrahan and while Malancon had a tough year last season, I think he is a good bounce back candidate.

Pissed I didn't tape yesterday's just for the player intros (which I saw without sound as I was watching from Rama lol).

Hopefully they show the ones before Game 3.

Psh, who does this Dion Sanders person think he is? If he has to play 2 sports, clearly he's no good at either of them.

I'm kidding. For the duration of the game, I will probably play the role of a cynical, jaded fan circa 1992 whenever I can get comedy mileage out of it.

Wait until he starts faking the leg injury and limps everywhere when he doesn't have to run hard (before showing off 4.3 speed when he does).

The Braves got Maddux in the off season. If Avery didn't get his injuries, imagine a rotation of Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine and Avery. Wow that would be nuts.

They had it in '93 lol

Maddux: 20-10, 2.36
Smoltz: 15-11, 3.62
Glavine: 22-6, 3.20
Avery: 18-6, 2.94

And they still only won the division by a game (Giants didn't make the playoffs going 103-59 lmao) and then lost the Phillies series with a +10 run differential or something

Yup. I should have said for an extended period. That was Avery's best season I believe and then his career went south.

I just caught myself about to say "comeon J...." lol

Patt Borders, proving you can win something with a defensively challenged catcher. Or atleast be in the conversation.

I remember when they got Cone. No one thought the Jays were going to get him and caught people by surprise since it was after the non waiver deadline. Don't care what anyone says, that trade helped the Jays win the series. Too bad about Kent though, but oh well.

Juan Guzman was my favorite Blue Jay when I was little for reasons I've never been able to figure out.

Probably the same reason Felix Potvin was my favourite Leaf as a child...wicked name. ;)

It's always tough, especially when a player turns out to be a HOFer, but the objective is to win a world series. You do that deal every time, in hindsight ofcourse hah.
