How come nobody talks about romero? They could view him as a reclamation project and we take niese-- the safer bet maybe?

Not a good time to deal Ricky. Last season would really hurt his trade value. He's being pushed down the rotation, but I still think he's a huge part of the team, especially in the clubhouse.

I still feel very strongly that Niese will be coming in with Buehrle either being involved in this trade or being flipped elsewhere shortly thereafter.

How much bigger could the deal get? I mean, I don't think Niese along with Dickey would be included. Perhaps Thole and Davis with Lind inclusion + TDA +?

Man I'm very much worried about the prospects we may lose if this does get much bigger.

I wonder about the possibility of a third team being involved. The Mets really have nothing that valuable, while that third team could help out. A team like the Angels makes sense since they desperately need pitching.

Well the fact that we're hearing something makes me wonder if it's actually going to go down. So many things have come right out of nowhere.

Would be odd for Mets to take Buehrle who would make a combined more than Niese + what Dickey is asking for over the next 3 years (46 vs 48M). It makes a lot of sense from the Jays perspective though.

With the way AA works I could see him pulling of some mega trade

JP + LIND FOR IKE DAVIS
BUERHLE + GOSE FOR NIESE
OSUNA FOR DICKEY

Final deal:

Osuna, Gose, Lind, Arencibia, Buerhle for Dickey, Davis, Neise

So for the mets their Major league roster goes from:

an ACE with just a few years left,
a controllable young pitcher
A big power bat ...........

To

a young controllable starting catcher
an innings eater veteran
a useful but below average first basemen

but in the process aquire two top prospects, one close to major league ready, the other a few years away but has huge potential.

Jays get WAY better for LESS money. But farm takes a big blow.

Davis must be the key piece if we are going to part with serious young talent.

Young controllable player with upside at a position we are lacking organizational depth in.

If it is Jonathan Niese you will have solidified yourself as a reputable insider in my eyes

yeah this is my thought. and i wouldnt even be shocked to see Niese as a possible piece either.

Come on MSN, there is much to discuss.

I'm thinking that's where AA is looking next. This could get crazy.
