I'm usually huge on fake twitter accounts... never believe anything... don't follow any questionable folks or search "dickey trade" on twitter
But when Cormack retweets it... that got me.
God damn heart attack. Wouldn't mind adding Ike davis... TDA please don't leave
If you go to the jays home page there's a picture of Dickey and an article talking about us being the front runners. Very surprised to see it on their home page.
There are
certainly
many players out
there who
would be great
fits for us.
I feel like there's already a deal struck between the Angels and Mets for Dickey involving Bourjos+, but Mets are trying to work a deal out with AA for Gose+/JPA+.
I don't understand why AA would want to put himself at the level of Colleti, Towers, Wade, and Moore.
Hell, I don't even think Brian Burke would do this trade.
People saying AA won't trade D'Arnaud and Gose. How the hell do you know that? All the names being mentioned is just speculation at this point. None of it is official or concrete, so settle down. Everyone is jumping to conclusions..even myself
Ya thats weird.
Its also weird how Dickey appeared on OTR just a few days ago and name dropped the jays over a week ago on some other interview......almost like he has first hand info that a trade to Toronto is going to get done.
He can... I just doubt it would be for Dickey (at least both of them). If you're talking David Price, everybody is on the table but for a 38 year old with one year left on his contract, you're not going to give up your best guy(s).
That was on the Jon Stewart show I believe.
It was Off the Record. Landsberg was talking to him about possibly being traded after he won his Cy Young and Dickey said something like "Yeah, a bunch of teams have an interest in me, may be coming to where you are next year, heard the Jays in a few rumours"
Imagine the deal is done and they are just trying to work out an extension for him?
Interesting. Did he make any sort of adjustment to his swing or anything? He was struggling a lot early on so maybe its regression to the mean but I dunno.
Hmm. Looking at his splits last season, they are huge. Hit .253/.345/.523/.868 last year against righties with a .271 BABIP, closer to what you would expect. Despite the low BA, he still had a solid OBP and power against righties but was abysmal against lefties. Hit .174/.225/.335/.560 against lefties with a .193 BABIP which is kinda what killed his BABIP last season. I don't think its all luck that he struggled, he is really bad against lefties but is a bit better over his career with a .217/.281/.361/.643 with .277 BABIP against lefties so maybe that will normalize. I don't think I would expect him to be a great hitter unless he improves against lefties a lot but should still be an above average hitter. Increase LD% and power is a good sign though.
@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: D'Arnaud very much in play in Dickey talks between #BlueJays and #Mets. Deal would be bigger, multiple pieces going both ways.
