Nothing of interest there aside from Lindholm.
I always thought if the trouba made it clear he didn't want to sign long term in Winnipeg and was down to play in Ana long term... something around Manson+(+) could work... saves peg a bit of money and replaces troubas mins with manson who would prob be a great partner for Morrisey.

But that's a lot of ??? that would need answers before id even go down that road.

Connor and Trouba will BOTH likely get more on their upcoming contracts than what Lindholm is currently getting. We're up against the cap as it is, this is simply just not possible for Anaheim.

Yup. Winnipeg would need to get more than that package but couldn't take any more cap back with Stone signed. It might make more sense if they don't get Stone. Could then look at taking more cap back instead of Steel and 2nd.

As much as ducks need to improve,
We also have to watch every dollar.
We have three players not worth their contracts right now IMO
Perry Kesler and Eaves. Perry looks he still will at least be a valuable 2/3 liner, although too expensive. Kesler is a killer. Henrique and Fowler are expensive but will be useful in a retool if they can’t be moved.

Our retool has to be with an eye towards post Getz and Perry replacement.
RFA prices are going up and that will hurt us. So we are a tough trade partner for most, unless someone gets stupid and overpays

Assuming the Jets are able to acquire and eventually sign Stone long term would the following work in the off season?

To Anaheim: Kyle Connor & Jacob Trouba

To Winnipeg: Hampus Lindholm, Sam Steel & 2nd Round pick.
Why punish Connor?

 Lindholm makes about $5.3 million per, Trouba will be seeking $7.5 million per and Connor close to $7 million per and Anaheim is crashing and burning. No way i see Trouba with Anaheim long term. Trouba is probably looking at playing closer to home. And Anaheim isn't it.

I'd be down for something around Trouba for Lindholm and Rackell (not proposing that by the way, just something to start with). But Connor is likely staying with the Jets, would take overpayment to get him on any roster. Say if Anaheim offered Lindholm, Rackell, 1st 2019 and Gibson for Connor alone I'd say Cheveldayoff should do it, but I know that trade would never likely happen, but just saying.

But what I do understand is that Cheveldayoff might have to move one of Connor, Ehlers, Roslovic, or (I can't believe I'm saying this) Laine. But I know when the next expansion draft happens he'll manage for Little to be taken (unless a trade happens). Because the Jets are bound for cap hell within the next three seasons.

If the Ducks were looking to trade one of their defenders to get a forward, which one would it be?

To me, they have zero reason to trade Lindholm, Montour or Manson and Fowler probably has a NTC?

Lol no. Connor is good. But he's not Lindholm

It’s counter productive. Why are we swapping Top pairing Defenseman? I’m not gonna even argue who’s the better player as it’s all moot.

But this does nothing for the Ducks. If anything it’s worst for the Ducks losing a 1d and some of our best prospects.

Ducks easily pass. Jets keep Trouba and we keep Hampus.

I'd assume a deal like that woud be predicated on the belief that Trouba woudnt sign long term. I know there has been a lot of contention on that idea. Not saying it's true either.

We have Lindholm signed till 21-22 season. On a damn good deal. Why do Ducks take the chance on Trouba? Who is likely gonna want more money than what Lindholm is signed for. Not only taking the risk he would resign here.

He is still RFA this offseason and a pretty clear upgrade on Montour?

Exactly Lindholm is signed until after 21-22 season. At a lovely 5.2 million. Trouba is at 5.5 million this off season and will need a raise.

I would rather save 800k because I’m sure Trouba will want to be in the 6 million range.

Still not offering Lindholm for him. It’s counter productive and not only that, we add atleast 800k+ in resigning Trouba.

Yeah and far more expensive as well, Trouba is already making $200,000 more then Lindholm. And will get a raise this summer.

Ducks just don’t have the cash to be giving out right now. We are so close up against the cap as is. And I’m sure the owners don’t want to Spend anymore money on a losing product right this moment.

Exactly that's why Trouba to Anaheim makes no sense? He'll be looking for at least $7.5 million and Anaheim can't afford that much right now.
