Seriously, this stuff is hilarious

The entertainment seems never ending.

"Erik Johnson would be a 4th/5th defender on Buffalo."

"Trade proposal- to Boston: Gardiner, Colbourne, a 1st, and a 3rd ; to Toronto: Seguin."

Please, please let these type of ridiculous statements continue.

SAY AGAIN?

I can't believe that for one minute. Thompson is under appreciated by Yzerman and company if this rumor is true.

Was about to say I might do that first trade, but with the 3rd overall, LOL   I would go Tampa myself to throw Yzerman out...

I'd do it without the 3rd.

I wouldn't do that. 2 centers and a winger for Sequin is nowhere near fair value. Vladdy has 2C upside, Connolly I wouldn't mind packaging for something other than a soft perimeter winger.

Nate is a heart and soul type of player exemplifying the work ethic everyone needs to aspire to. He's not untouchable, but not as a package for Seguin.

I feel like nate would be just tacked on there, the real value is in connolly and namestniknov. We do need some toughness on the bottom 3 though wouldn't mind a lapierre signing especially with the possibility of having a rookie line of Johnson Panik Palat. Also still in favor of a filppula signing, I believe Yzerman will give him a reasonable contract and him playing with killorn and purcell will set up a nice fast offensive 2nd line.

Drouin-Stamkos-St louis
Killorn-Filpulla-Purcell
Palat-Johnson-Panik
Malone-Lapierre-Crombeen

Doesnt sound so bad to me. Then again I had a few drinks tonight trying to pass the time till tomorrow.

for those not playing along at home, what he's saying is:
To TB: Erik Johnson, #1 pick
To COL: Hedman, #3 pick

If this package happened, then TB would be logically going after Seth Jones. It sounds pretty far fetched IMO, but that's the rumor.

I feel like this isn't the first time Dater has said something like this. Didn't he say like a month back or whatever it would cost the bolts Hedman and #3 for the 1st?

I'd take that deal and run if it doesn't include the 3rd, Thompson is great but you can find plenty of players like him.

Throw in Stamkos and we could have almost no centers on the team anymore...

I liked Pouliot and didn't really get why he was benched so much at the end of the season. He was on pace for almost 50 points prorated for 82 games, had good chemistry with Vinny and did fit in right away. I wouldn't be against another year of him in a Bolts jersey.

Any ideas on what we will be doing with pouliot?

This is from last year, but perhaps the same thinking is in the works this year too.

But by not issuing a qualifying offer to Pouliot, the Lightning prevented the forward from being able to invoke his arbitration rights, a strategic move by the team, which is confident a deal to sign Pouliot will get done.

Same here. He did well here. It seems like I'm the only one who wants him back.

Three. I'd love to see BP back. If Pouliot had stayed healthy for all of last season, I don't think there would be much debate about bringing him back.

However, if the Lightning think they can upgrade the position (at a reasonable price)through free agency, I'm all for that as well. At the end of the day, I want competition for the spots on this team. Make the players work their ass off to earn their playing time, and have capable replacements when/if injury occurs.

It was two parts - get some of the kids ice time to try to figure out who is ready for the big show, and to show them off as potential trade chips.

Yzerman said Syracuse D Brendan Mikkelson will not get a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. W Ben Pouliot is not expected to be qualified, either.
