Beautiful B.C.
Never seen someone try so hard to recognize something so obvious.

The OP clearly says 40% retained. So it's not OEL @ $7.26M, it's OEL at $4.356M. Unless OP means 40% retained in TOTAL, from his $8.25M hit, which means a cap hit of $4.95M.

Whether or not that has value, and what it is, is different.
I assume he means 40% retained from what the canucks pay for his cap hit, otherwise his value tanks even more.

Am i wrong? The premise of the thread is oel to toronto, it happens he proposes it at 40% but what if a leafs fan said they would do it at 30%, does he have to start a whole new thread to say this ones at 30%?

The premise is OEL to Toronto, the proposal is 40% retained and people are able to change a proposal at any time, therefore they can change the 40% to 50% and the return to matthews and a first and now the proposal has changed but the premise of OEL to Toronto is the same.

OEL at 40% for 5 years retained is worth less than Gudbranson at 40% retained for 4 years, your screeching about "You never seen him! You dont know him! lalalalla!" doesnt change much lol
Fine the proposal is 40%/50% retained, which is what everyone has been talking about this entire thread, not 7.2 million that you put into your reply that I called you out for.

The biggest reason people don't like OEL is because he is wildly overpaid for the player he is now, that's honestly it, if he was paid half or even 40% it would be completely different, Gudbranson on the other hand is useless no matter how much he makes, if you watched this team like you say you have, you'd know that, it's why I keep saying that.

Now you wanna reply with some sort of retort worthy of an actual argument?

LOL is that what you did?

We are now in agreement that you were wrong on what a premise is as well, yes?

We will not see eye to eye on OEL, so we should probably leave it at that. I think you overrate the hell out of him and you think ive never watched him before and that i dont know him.

Nope its what you did, look at the post I responded to where I said NOBODY is talking about trading him at 7.2 million because you inferred that we were and that nobody would take him at the price, which everyone on the planet is already aware of. Your strawman argument here isn't doing anything but making you look more wrong.

I agree we won't agree on this I think OEL at 3.6 million is value, as he is a declining (slowly) 4/5 dman in the league. You would have to have not watched him to think he is comparable to Gudbranson, its the only logical conclusion, either that or your being deliberately ignorant.

That is overrating the hell out of him? Ok then.....

Yup, overrating the hell out of him and downplaying his downfall, but you do you. There isnt any use in arguing with someone who isnt able to understand simple things like a premise.

He is a declining 4/5 dman, it's not as rapid as some would make it seem, again people hate his contract.

Funny you call me out for the exact thing your doing, and I'm not the only one who see's it or calls you out for it, but I'm wrong, surrre, surree.

Have nice day bud.
