Thanks guys!

No one ever really says what is around average. So when I hear people talk about it or look up some quick stats, outside of some obvious outliers, I never know if that percentage is too high/low or around a players career average.

So when you see William Karlsson score 43 goals with a shooting% of 23.4%, you can make a pretty safe assumption that number is going down....hard.
Much like Arvy's small sample size of 23.5% this year will begin to go way down once he comes back. Forsberg has gone up every year he's been in the league and this year he sits at 16 something. Hopefully that's a sign of simply getting more dangerous rather than lucky

Over/under on Watson hitting 36? :sarcasm:

30? I would be shocked and happily surprised for 20
Think he was playing the bit lol. However, I for sure could see him hitting 20 with how he's played so far. My prediction though was around 14 g 20 assist, before the suspension. So hopefully he surpasses that.

Missing half the top 6 long term. The (arguably) top defender out for who knows how long. Rookies playing important roles. On the bright side, the goalies are healthy...

I think the last time I recall the team having this many injuries, they ended up drafting Seth Jones. I feel pretty confident they can hang onto a playoff spot this time, though, as long as they can avoid additional injuries (especially to the defence and goalies).

Near where sand and waves meet.
A warning sign in Germany. Perhaps it should appear between the visitor's locker room and the ice.

absolutely the best defensive game we have played this season. and exactly the style of game we need to play right now. amazing the way we played the last 30 minutes of this one. not only did we hold them to 20 shots, but more importantly how we limited high danger chances and mistakes in our zone. just a great effort from all 19 players.

Loved how we simplified the breakouts and kept coverage layered in all zones. Keeping the forwards higher with only one aggressive forechecker really had them struggling to punch through. Boring when your on the other end of it but creates some chances but really keeps the coverage thick in the neutral zone

AMEN- fantastic effort all the way around. That is exactly what we need to do to win games right now- just grind it out and make it as ugly and boring as possible.

Every win we get with this crap lineup is absolutely humongous- buys us more time....

For the love of whatever can we please stop the two second delay between scoring and our horn going off? Every goal I'm either thinking I didn't see it right or it was waved off.

Great game. Great energy from the crowd for a Monday in December.

Eichel sure is a whiner.

We need to a heavy dosage of Rinne and exactly what we saw tonight to survive our injuries and sneak into the playoffs.

It would be awful to have a wonderful season just to draw a healthy Preds team in the first round I would imagine. This is what I'm hoping for right now, anything more is great.

Josi did a good job on Eichel for most of the night.

Some of the depth players, Hartman, Watson, Sissons had some close chances that didn't go.

Salomaki with 13 minutes and Tolvanen with 10. I watched each of them almost exclusively when they were on the ice and didn't see any reason why those minutes shouldn't be flipped. Tolvanen does a real good job of finding the open spots down low between the circle and the crease (I think Smith fed him there late in the game, maybe the shot Trigg mentioned).

Meanwhile Salomaki does nearly the opposite in that he's almost always skating right to where a teammate already is, and not for good support like a board battle I mean just anywhere on the ice, he's chasing the puck and pulling himself out of positions to receive it, like he's the only one playing exclusively man-on-man all night. He could be a lot more effective if his head allowed him to be. Shame we kept him over Aberg, but that player might not have turned it around here either.

Tolvanen only played in the first 8 minutes of the 2nd, apparently.

I don't remember if we started that way, but Salo was being hard matched against the Eichel line with Sissons and Watson pretty consistently through the second half of the game. That would explain part of the disparity.

Lavi is not going to trust playing a lock down game with a guy with just a couple of NHL games under his belt. There are lots of really good players that are Vets who would see their ice time fall in that same situation. Now Tolvanen may be ok doing that, but Lavi is going to go with a whole host of other guys he has seen do it in the past first.

I think you're being a little to dire in your assessment of where we finish the season. If the players who are out now were out for the whole year, yes wed probably be doing well to slip in as a WC. But as it is we built up a big cushion in the first 20 games. If we get all our guys back healthy by mid January we will still be in the running for the division.
