I laugh that people believe twerps like the Castellinis yesterday when they come out and say they are losing money on the Reds. And they spend over 100 million on salaries compared to the A's who are going to be under 30 when they deal Montas eventually.

John Fisher made a deal with mlb. In exchange for conducting studies and financing his own trips to and from Vegas, the league put them back on the small market list and are giving them money. If I’m a fellow owner I’m pissed that a multi-billionaire is crying poor and basically taking money from me.

If the league didn’t want Vegas so much they’d force a sell, which will likely happen anyway once Fisher gets his waterfront park. That’s all he’s done his entire life; take other people’s money and make even more off of it.

If the second story is true, MLB itself is wrong and should be suspended from making any baseball decisions.

There isn't an entity that has the authority to prevent MLB from doing what they're doing.

So is the athletics owner not willing to invest any money in a new stadium?
He wants it all public-funded despite being a multi-bullionaire. And it’s not just a stadium, it’s a double-digit billion-dollar neighborhood with a stadium in it.

The city of Oakland is damned either way, and that’s perfectly fine with Manfred and the league.

And hopefully no other city will want the team unless there are new owners.

just a matter of time before fisher starts charging the cats rent
He’ll just cook them and call them ‘dollar dogs’.

Most stadiums have feral cats to help naturally control the rat/mice populations. It’s just more noticeable in a stadium run by John Rachel Phelps Fisher himself.

I was told the stadium was to be privately funded.

Word is a yes vote is very probable from city council. This may actually get done after all.

Good. A's need to stay in Oakland.

Although I still can't see why they can;t build next to current Coliseum site, where public transit actually exist.

On behalf of Fisher, I suspect.
All the owners, I suspect. They all benefit financially from such projects, either in terms of replacing their existing stadiums with lucrative real estate projects (and reaping the benefits of the municipal debt used to pay for them) or in terms of increased franchise valuation to prospective buyers looking for the benefits of stadium replacement.

im not the hugest baseball fan out there but like i feel bad for oakland sports fans like how bad does it feel to lose 1 team and maybe lose 2 in a 5 year span hope they stay in oakland
